I'm sure there have been a lot of people upgrading from a V2 to a Pro. Can you tell much of a difference in flight performance?

It will be a long time before I dump my V2 on 4S as I really enjoy the way it flies but I'm interested in the comparison.

You really need to see one in person and/or fly one. The difference is night and day. Everyone I know that has changed says it's a whole new heli.

Let me know if you want to meet up and fly mine.

Hey Anthony, I was hoping that would not have been the response!

Are you running 3S or 4S?

I doubt I'll pick one up soon as I have so many SE v2 parts in stock but who knows, maybe just an addition to the fleet!

We should definately meet up soon and thanks for the offer, I'll gladly take you up on trying out the 450. Are you going to be at Brooks?

Yup I will be at Brooks Fri-Sun. Don't fly the 450 Pro unless you are ready to buy one, I'm not kidding!

3S 2250 Pro Power 30C and 40C packs on mine. There is no room for 4S on the 450 Pro.

That sucks for me, I have no 3S packs now as I converted to all 4S a while back and have 6 packs.

Sounds interesting though, I couldn't imagine it flying much better than the V2. On 4S with the scorpion motor I've been really enjoying the heli again now that we have some decent weather.

Anyway, that would be cool to try it out and who knows it seems that I'm always building a new heli at Brooks.

When the Pro came out, I honestly thought it was just another 450 from Align and wasn't going to pay any mind to it. Then I got to see one fly at SEFF. I'm not easily impressed with new stuff (claims that something is vastly superior than its predecessor are taken with a grain of salt with me), but even I have to admit that the flight performance was truly night and day. The head is CLEARLY much TIGHTER on the pro than the V2. During the hard stops, the heli NEVER shuddered under the blades (my V2 shudders a bit but that's because it isn't exactly "tight" in the head). The stock motor really screams and with the 30C/40C packs, I'm not gonna lie, I was truly impressed. I don't want to have 2 450s and unfortunately, my V2 450 is probably worth less than peanuts right now, so I'll be holding off on getting one anytime soon (especially since I have a 700N on the way). Still, I was very impressed by it. It is a solid design and flies very well. If I had the money, I would have bought one that day.

...now where was I, dh/dt = BS-dx/dt

Ummm...I'm running 4S 2200 packs on a Neu 1107H/2Y in my Pro. You can even run 6S. 4S power rocks

I agree, I love the TT. My Pro head has essentially zero slop. The heli flies awesome, and with the TP Carbon blades, it is noticably more stable than my V2. I'm impressed for sure.

That's good news, anyone running Flightpower 2100 4S packs? I'd hate to have to swap out packs as I've got 6 of them right now for the SE V2.

How's the power on 4S and did you ever run it on 3S?

trex 450 pro ticks all the box's

i thought the 450 v2 seemed to hang on the edge of preformance....were as for the 450 pro it jumps over that barrier and keeps going if you like.................

i sold my trex 500 on 6s to get my 450 pro and glad i did this thing is just great....
i got the new EON evo 2200mah 30c lipo 3s and it packs a punch so no need for the 4s lipos.........although some 4s lipos will fit......

it realy is night and day between the 2 heli's...................

its like everything else that needs to evolve..............

kind regards helinelly

if it broken.....glue the bast#$d...keep flying..i tell the wife my crashes cost £20! works for me

How does the new Align gyro hold, I'm thinking about replacing my Gy240 with one and was wondering if it'll do the trick?

New Pro Fan

I had the chance to fly a Pro the other day, WOW is all I can say, if I had not just been laid off, I would have one of these fantastic helis. I would keep my V1 and make it a night flier. The different feel between the Pro and the predecessors is huge, my buddies all had V2s and I would fly them, and they did not feel that much better than my V1. But the Pro is like a totally new machine, it is smooth, locked, in and stable, and powerful.

That's good news, anyone running Flightpower 2100 4S packs? I'd hate to have to swap out packs as I've got 6 of them right now for the SE V2.

I am not running them in my Pro yet, but I have some Evolite 2100 4S packs and they fit fine under the Pro canopy. My Rave and 450 V2 are both running 4S with Scorpion motors and my pro will have the same power setup soon. It has good power stock, but it still can't compare with a good 4S setup.

...and yes, it is "that" much better than a V2. This thing really flies great!!

I recently got to try one and like all say, it was a very nice experience. The new motor seems to have a lot of power.
I was impressed.

I was wondering do you guys think it's all in the new motor ?

I mean the head looks similar to the v2 I guess.

How would the v2 behave with the same motor as the PRO ?

450 V2 versus Pro

Just ordered a Pro. Have two V2's. On one of the V2's I have modified it with the V3 torque tube. Use Thunder Power 2100mah Pro Lite LiPo's and this makes for a very quick heli. Will build the Pro and let you know which one I like better. From seeing a V2 and a Pro fly, I would have to say the Pro is better.

you can't on the stock motor... stock motor is only rated up to 3S... although the ESC can go 4S, the built in BEC is only rated up to 3S...

Ive flown both.

They both fly nice and pretty different IMHO. The Pro feels like a smaller TREX 500.

I actually prefer the V2 because I feel it has a softer collective pitch ratio and is easier for me to work with. Not to mention the V2 has lots of room to mount stuff.

The build and quality of the V3 are definitally a step up but I wouldnt toss my V2 for it
