Be very careful when screwing the pinion on the clutch-bell. Yes, I second this.

Tips for this: Before I even do anything, I use a cottonbug to clean out any dirt, machining debris if any. Then I tried a dry run on it first all the way down with delicate effort, very carefully..It is dead easy to get it stripped. After that, do it again with RED locktite. And when you are done with the RED locktite, it is sitting nice and firm.

Vantskruv: do join in the fun and post some pics..I find that there is more joy building and posting pics at the same time. LOL.

Welcome to the club.

you have to use small knift run true the tread to clean cnc bit first. Then slide the bell into engine fan and slide pinion gear after and slowly turn pinion into the bell it should go in smooth and after 3/4 of the tread take the bell out and then turn in till pinion sit on the bell, and when you run the enging the pinion will lock it self in.

No it was my fault, the threads are fine so putting lateral force gives the risk to cross the threads.

Actually I was screwing the pinion in completely and screwing it out, it required a quite much amount of force to screw it out, which probably was the cause of the thread misalignment (had to use tools to screw it out). I screw it out because I wanted to put some loctite on. Is it really necessarily to put loctite on? I was thinking maybe forces at the other direction may occur and let the pinion screw itself out.

Next time I clean the threads within the clutch-bell, and straightly put som loctice and screw the pinion on ones and for all. Thanks for your tips eckman!

Im lost

My experianc with flybarless models reguardless of the head used the swash must do the following

Lift nose of heli up and swash must tilt forward for down elevator to compensate

Tip model to right alieron and swash must tilt back to the left alieron

this way the gyros actually compensate and stablise the machine

How is the Srimok head differnt

can you post a pic please to explain this more for me as im about to build my second Srimok and it will be flybarless with Vstabi

Thanks Dale

Did anyone put the original washer on the YS91SR engine or without? I'm a little unsure, the manual is a little unclear about this matter. There is a washer for the OS-engine but not the YS. And I'm a little concerned about the distance between the engine-case and the fan. I guess the original washer should be placed on the shaft, it's more correct that way. But before doing anything I want to be sure!

Vantskruv:

You need to use the washer in the YS engine for the clearance. I had checked this with a number of people here and my friend certainly had his on it.
