My Posts This: Topic Forum | There are 3 different designs of main grips that I'm aware of.
1) Grip with 2 radial bearings, no thrust bearing. 2) Grip with 2 radial bearings, one thrust bearing (old style) 3) Grip with 2 radial bearings, one thrust bearing (new style)
The difference between the old and new style grip with thrust bearing is this:
1) old - 6mm inner radial bearing, thrust bearing outbound of both radial bearings 2) new - 8mm inner radial bearing, thrust bearing sandwiched by radial bearings.
The image below shows the use of the new spindle shaft (slightly longer) with the aluminum spacers for the old and new grip with thrust bearing. While I'm on the topic of spindle shaft. If you have the older slightly shorter spindle shaft, you use the brass spacers.
