ha, so how many is that now? 3 us of for sure... i know there must be others lurking around

I was unfortunate enough to see an NX crash last weekend (not mine). There was very little damage considering it nose dived into the ground.

I was going to suggest to the pilot that maybe the frames were bent...but these G10 frames will just flex. the metal ones will permanently bend. these ones will give, and flex back. so the frames were fine on it. Sweet!

Hey that's cool. Hopefully they'll be a little more durable than the original raven frames. I know they're not meant for crashing, but 2 serious crashes on that raven, and BOTH times I tore the entire head out of the upper frame - along with the upper frame.

Not such a big deal.. Plastic breaks, and helis are made to fly, not crash I get it. It just sucks breaking the upper frame on that raven. Gotta tear the whole bloody thing apart.

Anyways, long and short of it is I think I'm going to start using loctite on the servo screws. I had it screwed in, but I've always been wary of loctite getting into the gears and whatnot. Now I say to hell with it. I've almost been bit once before because of servo screws backing out, now I HAVE been bit. Loctite it is.

Whatever.. Now I get a swanky new heli

That canopy's gonna be the first thing to go though.. Eek.

Actually, yeah, metal geared servos. The whole cause of this is that I just installed some brand spanky new 8717s because the 5625s just weren't up to the job with the flybarless setup.

Due to a lack of long balls for the Century head, there's a lot of torque on those poor little buggars, and I just haven't had good luck with those servos.

On the upside the 5 minutes of flight I got before the arm popped off was the best I've ever had on that raven. Wow.. Those ridiculously overpowered servos really do make a difference to the flight characteristics!

As for the canopy, I think it looks about as nice as a painted coke bottle. It's god awful. I much prefer the older style canopies. And since I already have one, it's a win win for me!
