Just love all the new improvements.

The new manual rocks! Used it as a building surface

The kit also comes with two sets of paddles SWEET!(3D & More stable)

THATS NOT A PIPE THIS IS A PIPE!!!! LOL TOP-old silent power
Bottom NEW TRI_FLOW SILENT POWER

Some of the equipment that I'm going to use on this new build.

Cant wait to get this all together and see how the new NX feels in my hands.

Just proves you can't stay away from nitro !

Well I love 50 size! The Swift 620 is my favorite over the 550 Both at 8S, but now that I have discovered how to make my own fuel with a local source selling the ingredients I need cheap, I'm back! I was killing a couple gals almost every afternoon when I had my last nitro. . I have been using and testing my home brew in a couple of planks and a car and have found a good mix that works for me.
I found the MSDS on a case of magnum fuel and have been messing with the mixing ever since. I will also update here on how well the hyper likes the new mix.

Also curious how long my rear bearing will last with the home brew.

Oh yeah...Technically, I'm still staying away from nitro!

LOL

Cheers,

Raven

The build went well, every part was accounted for.
Everything is butter smooth now, just had to put in some extra work to free up the tail (5min job) All is slop free and silky smooth!

Lots of rain here so cant give my thoughts of how it runs just yet, but I'm sure it will track like its on rails like my last raven.

Cheers,
Raven

It's CRAP!

Jokes! It can definitely hang with any other 50 out there!

Super smooth and stable

A little on the heavy side at 8.39 lbs empty
Plastic gear servos, 2500 mah lipo with 2 in 1 and 7100r with align 520 mini servo for throttle and a mini-g for equipment.

I think century should kill the transmission on there next 50 and shed at least another 1 lbs + Use the swift style drive system but make it nitro!

Here is MY beater canopy Just does not come close to yours FP

Another NX 50 is born!

Futaba 9254 on the throttle
JR 8231's on the cyclic
Futaba 601/9251 for the tail.
TJ Revmax
YS50
the new Tri-flow pipe
Rotor Tech 610's
K&B tail blades.
2500 2S Flight Power lipo
Arizona Regulator

I kept the metal tail pitch slider, Metal two piece fan, the and carbon control rod from the original Raven. I'm going to be putting the metal helical cut tail gears into it soon as well...not that it needs it, i just like them Actually, when it came to the tranny, i just pulled the entire engine out with the mount, gear, fan, clutch and all from the original Raven, and dropped it into the NX. everything is the same, so i didn't feel the need to rip it apart and have to re-drill a new magnet into the clutch and so on. So i now have an entire brand new spare drive system standing by. my kit came with both the origional main gear, as well as the new heavy duty main gear.

I do not understand though how this new heavy duty main gear will be THAT much stronger since the pinion is still the same. Since the pinion is the same size (length of teeth) there is still the same amount of surface area distributing the load.

With the bell crank setup and shorter arms, you need a lot of travels on the TX to give the same pitch. This is where your better resolution comes into play, as well as the reduced chances of stripping servos in a crash. you could easily accomplish the same thing on the original raven by moving the ball in closer.

I found that the linkage lengths suggested in the manual were nearly dead on. i just needed to fine tune the links one turn or so to get what i needed.

I noticed my NX is a little heavier then the Raven as well. about a 1/2lb more (roughly 8.25lb's). but i am using a much heavier lipo in the NX. I'm not sure if the tri-flow pipe is that much heavier though. I'll weigh the two pipes later on.

Pic's coming soon
