Just to let you all know how versatile the Swift is, mine has been flying for over a year on the following set up.
Standard Swift 16,
Align 600xl ( Later type 1700 rpv),
10 tooth pinion,
Century 80amp controller,
Hyperion 5350 3s lipo,s.
I am only interested in gentle flying around ( too old to do much else).
I used to use a training u/c on the above set up but now have removed it. Flight times are betwen 7 and 8 minutes.
I took advice before I used this set up...Everyone I asked said it wouldn't work but it does!! Please don't ask me the headspeed because I have never measured it! It is quite light which must help. I'm looking forward to the next year..
All the best....Chris UK.

I'm moving to the Swift using their proven Century 600A Plus and 80/100 ESC w/ switching BEC, can't beat the combo price of $320. I plan to just do the same easy flying then put together one for scale.

With some calculations, your head speed should be around 1700/1750 at 100% throttle with the ten tooth pinion.

I believe that would be good for sport and FF flight

How hot is your ESC?
MOTOR Temp?
3 cell 5350mah lipo temp?
and after your 7-8 min flight how much MAH do you put back in the pack?

More info might make other sport/FF pilots try a similar setup.

sounds intresting i am curious though couldnt the demand alot out of the battery i would imagine it could work but i do not see the lipo having a long life span i could be wrong though

Mabey one day i will actually land one of these things !!

Low voltage = higher amperage draw = more resistance = less efficiency = more heat = less life for the electronics. Unless you are really easy on the heli, you will do more harm than good with that setup. 4s is the minimum IMO....6s is the standard for a heli that swings up to 560mm blades.........Ron

I used 3s purely as an experiment. My son and I have 9 packs between us and use them as either 3s, 6s or 9s in many different aircraft. We usually prop for 50 to 60 amps at full throttle.
Back to helis. I fly very gently and at the end of a flight the motor and esc are not very hot and can be easily hand held. The lipos are the warmest but no hotter than in some of our aircraft. The lipos are used regularly as weather permits. All the packs are a minimum of 1 year old. We usually use them to 90% of their capacity and have had no problems....Yet! An interesting effect is that at the end of a flight the revs drop and the Swift cannot sustain flight but gently settles. The batteries are then discharged by 90%. I worked in the telecomms industry for many years and understand current vs voltage and heat losses etc. One day I might put the Swift onto 8s a123 but that would mean a new motor and controller..meanwhile I will happily drift around using a set up that everone said wouldn't work.
All the best...Chris UK

Great that it is working for you but did you realize lipos are out of their "safe" range when discharged more than 80%? By that I mean you are severely shortening the life of the lipo. Why not just wire two lipos in series for a 6s setup? Therefore decreasing amp draw and increasing power and efficiency...........Ron
