I have new Laptop that runs Vista 64 bit. I can't get the Auto CAD program to load. It comes up with warning that this software is not compatible with vista 64bit. My old laptot Vista also has no issue.

Any one solve this issue?

Thanks Jerry

try a new version of AutoCAD... Not sure vista will even recognize the kernal that AutoCAD 2000 uses.

Bring back the rotary phone so we don't have to press "1" to proceed to ENGLISH.

will not work on Vista

I am a Cadd operator and I am Sorry to tell you but 2000 will NOT work on Vista. I had the same problem. I bought a laptop for myself when I went out of town for some business and I was going to load 2006 on it so I could work in the hotel room at night.

Well it turns out that 2009 WILL work with vista....So You will have to upgrade AutoCadd or downgrade windows!!!

Why does my brain say left and my heli goes right?!

In my humble opinion, XP is still Windows' best OS. I know it's a pain to reinstall but XP will probably still run everything you're using and consume less RAM and CPU, especially if you optimize it without gradients and stuff. Plain, but efficient.

Sorry this doesn't really help you, but it's a thought!

Stuck with Vista

RexFlyer,

I'll have to agree with you. My desktop runx XP, my notebook runs Vista.

I would gladly erase the whole shebang and just do a plain XP install, but I don't have XP drivers for the notebook's bell & whistles. Someday I'll devote all the hours required to sift through the online download sources and try to find everything that's needed.
