A long time ago I had a Sig Kadet SR. (60 pwr) that I rigged up to drop a roll of toilet paper. The roll fit quiet well between the landing gear. I would drop it & buzz around trying to cut the streamer. Until one day aerodynamic loads exceeded design limitations. The #@$@!! wing came off. Took it home in a shoe box.

If it's got wings I can fly it......Waddya mean no wings!!!???

Mutt,

Garrett doesn't even fly helis. He's also pretty responsible.

I would hope it would tick off people. If someone did that at the field they would be removed at once and never allowed back. Glad this "top" pilot aint around here. We have enough idiots here like garett morrison etc that tick off everyone.

Mutt not sure what I have done to piss you off but I have always tried extremely hard in this hobby to leave any field I fly at with a positive attitude in peoples minds. I devote countless hours training people on buddy boxes, setting up planes, and helping anyone at the field that needs help no matter what brand of product they are using. I do run into the occasional "key board hucker" and your fitting this term to the T.
In the 14 years I have been flying I have never put a persons life in danger. I have always accepted the fact that planes can kill a person very easy. I am one of the most safety conscious persons at the field. My planes are well built, maintained, and great equipment used. But I still understand that failure happens and that is why I don't fly in a fashion where the plane would come into the pits or crowd if something did fail.
If you do have a problem with me "which I don't know many that do in our entire area" I would love for you to come up to me next time and explain what the problem is. I'm not into Heli's anymore but when I was I never dropped a gallon of fuel or water from them. Heck I could not stand buying 30 dollar a gallon Nitro fuel so I would have never wasted it no matter what the brand was. Also what is with not posting your actual name on a forum? Mutt??? Sorry all, I know this has nothing to do on the subject but you understand where I'm coming

Dont wanna stay on topic or anything but note in the Joker vid how the load is secured well and distributed evenly. Thats gotta be a whole lot easier to lift than a jug of liquid suspended on a sling. Imagine how hard it would be to fly with your center of gravity constantly changing. It would reduce your payload significantly Id guess

alright, Mr Morrison has claimed to never endangered a person's life, Mutt claims he hovers over people laying on the ground and flaunts the flight line. one of you two is lying like a dog.... any bets on which?

Well guys as you can see Mutt is defiantly the expert in this forum. Just read his posts LOL. 99% of them have nothing to do with RC. Defiantly a keyboard hucker. I admit, I have played around with cool camera angles and such to get the perfect picture. This was with friends I have known for a long time and were the ones wanting to be close to the airplane. But when something like this was done there defiantly was not anyone at the field except close friends that were all into the same things. Mutt is just a negative Nancy that tries to ruin the fun for everyone. I don't even know who Mutt is but from reading some of his posts it looks like he lives around my area. But I believe he is a compulsive liar. I read one of his post that said the club he belongs to outlawed women from flying because they should stay at home. Come on are you kidding me! There is not one field in the entire state of CA that would do that. I think Mutt is one of the guys that just sits in the pit's complaining about everyone at the field with a big smile on their faces.
This is defiantly not a airplane vs. Heli thing. I use to love flying my choppers. I actually would like to get another since the technology has come a long way in the last few years.
Well I'm done trying to argue with this Mutt guy. Just thought it was funny when a friend of mine told me some guy was talking smack BTW Mutt what field does all of this stuff happen? Because I have been asked by just about every local field to come do a demo for a special occasion at one time or another. I would imagine if the field had a problem with me this favor would never be asked.

Good luck everyone! Remember its a hobby and people like Mutt will try and ruin it for you. Just avoid them at the field and you will be much happier.
Garrett Morrison
p.s. As a firefighter I try to help people that are in dangerous situations, why would I want to cause injury to someone when all day long I try to prevent it? I'm out, have to go buzz the pits tomorrow at the field

I will tell you it does not matter what was stated. Garrett is one of the best plank pilots in the world. A true father of 3d. I have seen this guy save airplanes that were not flyable. The level of control and smoothness that he exhibits while he performs one of his many demos is nothing short of amazing.

He has inspired many, and gave them the tool's needed to be successful in this hobby. A true ambassador of aerobatic flight.
Garrett rarely gets to fly his own stuff because he is so busy helping others with setup and mixing.

He is one of the most safety-conscious people at any field he attends.
These things and many other's are the reason why Garrett is invited to do demos all over the world.

i still dont see the answer to whether he has done that sort of flying around people who were not aware of and fully accepting of the risks. If he's doing stunts like that with teh general public, yeah, bad thing to do. If he's doing it with personal friends who understand and are willing to bear the risk, well, that's their own business then isn't it?

And besides, if someone was to be within close proximity of a hovering airplane, you would think the safest place to be was directly underneath it. Think about it.

3 years is enough time wasted. Taking a break for a while.

I wonder why people would pay to have Garrett come out to other country's and do demos? If he is not a safe pilot then why would he be sponsored by some of the biggest names in the hobby?

Bottom line Coop, Mutt was out of line for claiming that Garrett pulls unsafe stunts. It's just not true and way off base.
