From reading the above, it seems Finnless Bob lives in the area. Is this correct?

Yes, lunch is included. We will have hotdogs, hamburgers, and more. Multiple grills.

Also some updates to Mark Fadely's flight school:

Hey Bill;
I'm coming up as usual but I'm not going to bring anything to fly. I can watch myself hover around the yard anytime.

Hey,I've got a question. I let my AMA card expire, can I still register as a pilot with an expired card? I know I can't fly without it,I just want to win a great door prize.

I called to renew yesterday and was told if I register after the 15th I'll be good this year and all next year. I couldn't pass that up.

I'm also anxious to see what you have done with the Huey.

See you there.
Glenn

I'm not sure but I don't think we can sign you up as a pilot since the paperwork is from AMA. But there should be some way we can take your $15 that qualifies you for the prizes . We are not certain what kind of prize table we will have this year. It seems most put all their energy into the Jamboree this year due to the economy and there are so many helicopter events now that the pool has been diluted a lot since we started. We seem to get most donations just a day or two before the event so it is hard to say.

I guess technically it was a JR ad. I'll need to borrow a pen from one of your fans. The D.O.G.S. do know how to put on a great show.

I live in Florence KY. Helicopters are second class citizens in this area, it is good to see they get respect in Lexington.

We lost our last of the 2 LHS we had. Only one supported helicopters it went away 2 years ago. Do you have good LHSs there are you guys down for a week waiting for the postman after a mishap?

I went as a spectator to the Cascades Helicopter club Fun Fly in Skomish Washington when I was there on business. They had 89 fliers. There are some serious guys on the west coast. They had Tod Bennett and Mat Botos conduct a 3d school the day before.

Pray for good weather.

The hobby shops around here are not the best for helis but we are close enough to Wildcat Fuels that we can get 30% at a great price even using one of the LHS. X-Cell models has a few kits but the best prices anywhere if you order parts through them. My 50 was $50 lower than any online shop. But no dream setup of just walking into the door and picking cheap parts off the wall exists here. We buy our crash parts ahead of time or just in time .

Matt Botos came to our event a few years ago but we haven't had a chance to get our dates synchronized since then. He is brutal on his helicopters. I think we have a photo of the trash can with a few sets of blades he broke yet his helicopter survived.

We expect a lot of great pilots this year. I don't like to say the names I'm not 100% sure of because it seems to jinx it. But it sounds like we will not only have a great show but a lot of help available for new pilots as well.

As for weather, we will be there come hell or high water. I don't even look at the forecast until I am at the field because it has been so unreliable. One or two times sitting home due to a forecast only to find it was bright and sunny all day is enough. This year we can just switch more focus to seminars if we do get hit by a shower.

Just heard Bert Kammerer will be able to make it Saturday and Jared Granzow is helping with the school. So if you can only attend one 8th annual LMAC Helicopter Fly-In, make sure it is this one.

Edit: See I jinxed one. Jared can't make it.

Darn I have missed a lot. Things in my life have been real hectic so far this year. I have been easing back into the hobby over the past few weeks and I'm really looking forward to the event.

It looks and sounds like it's going to be one to remember. I can't take a whole lot of credit in the planning this year, but I did get the Port-A-Pottys scheduled.

I'll be there all day Friday, helping get things ready (and sneaking a flight or 9 in). I'll also be there most of the day Sunday as well, helping clean the mess up. As for Saturday, my visit will have to be very brief midday. I have an important family function that can't be missed unless risking a divorce and trust me, that got close enough this year, I'm not looking to invite it back around.

As much as I'd love to be there for the BIG DAY, I have to keep my family first. And there is always next year!!!

See ya there!

Don't come off the throttle untill you see your GOD!

Plan on being at the port-a-potty for quite some time. It's gonna take you a while to get my boot out.
