Hello All,

Would like to know if exists any certified civilian UAV pilot School in US.

I have at the moment 14 years experience with r/c helicopters 100.00 Hours as a pilot with type HU269 helicopter, and also have completed the commercial and instrument rating examinations in a JAA certified school.

Running a small aerial video and photography business here in Portugal since 2007 i was seriously interested in proceed my career as a professional civilian uav pilot. I have tried my luck at Schiebell in Austria but they say that i have already a excelent CV, but i must have already education as a UAV pilot. For that reason i would like to ask if someone of you know were i can get that type of qualification.

At 27 years old and dreaming about these industry since i was a kid i think that i´m in right way in order to become a professional UAV pilot, however seems that is something missing,.. Can anyone of you give me some advice, or indicate a certified UAV Pilot School.

Tank you for your attention!

Best regards,
Jose

You might contact Embry Riddle University ,, as they are strictly an aeronautical school and advertise UAV training . This would probably be the best way to do it in civilian life ... otherwise a military education in UAV would probably do you too.

It is a good school ,, my son got his computer engineering masters there and now works for Northrop Grumman on the large scale UAV program called UCAVS ==== Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle Systems .( An F -117 size unmanned bomber )

Good luck on your future as a UAV pilot .
