I fly the Quicks now for a few years. Awsome helis. You will love them.
The perfect set-up in my opinion for the EP8 is;
Medusa Research motor 36-50-1000kv.
16 tooth pinion.
6s1p 3000-3300mah 25C batteries.
Hitec , HS85MG x 3 for the cyclic servos.
Futaba gy401/s9254 gyro servo for the tail.
Castlecreations Phoenix 80amp ESC.
Castlecreations 10amp BEC.
SAB 430mm main blades.
Use the Trex 500 landing gear instead of the stock ones.

Hey Jimbo, can you tell me more about those Twinring frames , I am interested so if I need to replace my frames I can upgrade in one go. How much and are they readily available.

twinring and I have been helping each other so much over the years. We have always given each other the stuff we needed for the EP8. So I would not know the price on the frames...
I do know that these frames are the best thing to happen to the EP8 in a long time. twinring realy did an awsome job on the design of them. Finaly a place to mount the battery and the ESC .AWSOME job!!!

Thanks for the list. I went to the Medusa site and they have a V2 version of the 036-50. Is that what you have?
On the Hitec are they the ball bearing or regular metal gear?

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		The Medusa v1 or the v2 are very powerful dependable motors. The v1 is like $85 and the v2 is like $114. So I would go with the v1. I have both and they are the same power wise..
The HS85MG Hitec servos are ballbearinged metal gear servos.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Just got back from vacation to Montana. It arrived!! It came with extra parts even. Lots of pinions, extra swash and tail boom. Now the slow part, putting it together. I did get a Castle Creations 80 ESC for $77.00. What should the servos run?

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I am seeing prices of about $30 for each servo. Is that a good price? The ESC is about $55, seems reasonable. I posted pictures in my gallery of what came with the kit.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Yes , $30 each is about right. I think the best servo for the EP8 is the HS85MG Hitec metal gear servo.
You might want to do the "Open up the front of the frame modification" so your batteries will fit better. You will have to cut the frames to do this tho. I do this "mod" to all my EP8`s...

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Morning all. I just got the landing gear on to my TR frames, I used 2 X spacers from the HDX500. They are tapped 3mm each end and have 2 holes 2.5mm in the side to mount the gear legs too, nice and simple, they are 26mm long so some thick washers take up the slack to the frames.
