Last week I was doing some auto's with aborts a few feet off the ground when the two bolts that connect the main gear to the main shaft, sheared off.

Happened to me twice. I drilled the bolt holes out. I use a bolt from a Trex 600N blade grip. It has a shoulder that gose all the way through. I works great.

I would love to see this heli fly.

Have you ever thought about using a carb smart or some thing like that to control fan speed based head temp? Carb smart to the speed control? Just a thought.

Rymps, where you been all my life! LOL
Those are some great ideas and I definately would've used the 600 blade grip bolts had I thought of it. You wouldn't happen to remember their O.D. would you?
As for the carb smart, I've never used one so I'm not familiar with it's capabilities. Does it have a temp sensing function in it?

WATCH OUT!!!!!!!!

i think they are 3.8 mm. I just used a drill bit just under 4mm. I useda drill press and turned the speed up to 500 and used some oil and light pressure and it went through. The threads are hardened as well as the shaft.

Rymps,
Yea I actually went out and bought a drill press just to drill mines (but I'd been wanting one anyways so now I had an excuse).
I guess I'll be ordering one of them carb smart's 2moro after I do some reading up on what all can be programmed for it.
As for the Dayton FF, I don't know anything about it so I'll call a couple of the locals and get the 4-1-1
CB, thanks man but you know I've got electronics out the ying-yang. I just have to figure which one can do the job (better yet, which job)

Definately can't make it Sat but if it's continued thru Sunday, then I'm there. Where's it going to be?

So I stop by the LHS and picked up a TP 1320 3S and wired it into the fan system and to counter that weight, I removed the Fromeco 2S 4800mah pack and made a 2S 3700mah (from a Outrage 3S 3700 pach I had lying around) and wired it in. I'll post some pics in the morning cause it's almost 2 in the morning and I need to wake early so I can GO FLY
