Jim, I just tried to order two pair of the hinges, twenty bucks worth. They were charging over thirteen ,13 ,bucks to ship them by ground ,that seems awfully high NOTICE !!!!!! RICHARD,with Airstar called me and the shipping charges were in fact WRONG !! I really appreciated the contact from him as there are not many dealers that would have done that !!Airstar has a BIG STAR above their name now since they gave such great service. I have dealt with them on this part and will more in the future !! THANKS RICHARD and JIM

Hi Wayne Parrish i would call them to see if they made a mistake on the shipping, because i don't think it would be that much to send something so lite.

Im back working on this beast

I have been working on the upper frame windows that fits over the front nose .I wanted to make sure it was perfectly level and smooth by using a small piece of wood and placing some glaze compound over it and cover it with plastic wrap, and before the glaze, set itself up. I press them together until level and presto perfectly level.
Now all i have to do is shape it nicely and re check the fit.

window frame set in it's place nice and level. There's a piece of wood underneath the left side of the window frame, and i placed a piece of wood on the other side being glazed into place on the other side locking it together. Thats why the glaze does not go all the way across.

here are the type of primers i will be using in the preperation of this paint job. theres way more to it then just using one kind of primer with this bad boy. I spare no extra work on this machine.
being ambitious is putting it lightly.

Hi Bell
Its good hearing from you i have been struggling trying to get employed so i stopped dead in my tracks. I just got re hired so know i have the normal things i like in life moving along know . I have been getting back to the G Jive, I'm working on it again. I am fitting the doors, so i should be showing the work i have done. plus Keith Schrader, owner of AirbornArt is making me some special custom bracket fittings that are going to mount up by the upper frame near the rotor head for extra support something different that well keep the whole helicopter frame very strong with the whole fuselage body to become one. I will post pictures as soon as Keith has them made there very affective .

Hi aashu
I use dolpine glaze and i use evercoat glazing compound they both get hard with in minutes and sand up very well to a real smooth finish. You can not go wrong with the finish product. I squeeze out a little add some catalyst and mix it up and start applying right away 3 minutes lately it's turns into a hard putty then in 5 minutes I'm sanding it perfectly smooth. this tuff works great i can sand it into any type of radius i desire.

Hi Bell, good hearing from you i see you over there at Matts thread so i just say hi once in a while so no one forgets me.
I am waiting for my logo transfers, that are being made for my G Jive. I'm a little stuck right know until i have them before i can go with the painting part .There being made for me from Mick P. that works at Rocket Rotors, He owns the G Jive scale in England. His friend, is making them for me I'm waiting for them to be finished before i can paint. I have been working a lot lately i have the doors, on plus i have the hinges, on as a test fit plus locking door handles, i made for it. Once i have that done then i will coat the inside of the doors to get rid of the fiber glass skin you can see i hate that. So i will coat them and sand them smooth, plus paint them to match the inside of the cockpit,So everything goes together nicely. I will have some photos, of these steps soon but i like getting some work done. Then i just post a bunch of work i have done for everyone to see.

Jim

Hi everyone im back again.

Well i have all of my logos and they look awesome Rocket Rotors took care of me very well what a very helpful company! They really care about there customers needs. Mick Pattison at Rocket Rotors really went out of his way to make these logos for my G Jive and they look perfect. There is some very nice people there at that company. So I'm now getting under way with the painting process and working on the doors, here are some photos of everything I'm doing so far.

here are my doors after being primed but i changed my mind i do not like the fiber glass meshing yuck . So i an removing it to be smooth. Like the whole inside of the cockpit, which is baby butt smooth. I have zero fiber glass mesh that can be seen inside the body so im including the doors also .

Here is a picture after placing some compound on the doors and sanding them smooth. It's not to clear but it is the only picture i have it being at this stage. There is another one were im holding the door open you can see the inside is smooth. Im getting ready to prime it. Plus you can see the custom door locks that were made.
