My Posts This: Topic Forum | Ummm, Juan, I tried that, and it got my new heli all STICKY!! I can't believe you use that stuff, that's nasty. Now I gotta alcohol the whole thing down again!
Ok, so I got the heli started tonight, had it strapped down to the table, just wanted to see if she would start and run. She did. TX settings were all screwy (throttle was backwards), so I downloaded a manual and played with them some. Then I started spinning blades, only to discover that they were way out of track. So I shut everything down, brought the bird inside, and set 90° on all servos when centered, then adjusted the pitch on each blade until they were as even as I could get them with the naked eye. (No blade protractor here yet)
And I got to noticing... this thing has what I guess is eCCPM, yet throttle (collective) movement was only moving one servo. So I got back into the manual, trying to figger out how to mix things up, and found this:
The heli manual says to set the TX for 3 point 120° swashplate mixing. But in the TX manual (Futaba FP-T7UHF), under mixing (pg 26), it says: "Mixing of any two channels is possible." It appears that there is a master and a slave channel, and we can set mixing for these two only. Set it at 50%, and sure enough, two servos move simultaneously.
So if I understand this correctly, I cannot achieve true eCCPM, and therefore cannot use this TX with me heli. Is this right? Bummer. Have heli, can't fly. Oh well, I guess this will just push me into buying that DX7/AR7000 combo that much sooner.
Also, QWW has some neat tools on their site, such as a bubble balancer, a flybar lockout tool, pitch gauge as well as paddle gauges... which of these are must-haves? I know now I will be getting ball link pliers, as well as ball end drivers (I have a few more sore fingers now than I did earlier tonight), but I wanted to know what else will make money for me as I set this thing up.
Thanks again for all the help guys, I really appreciate it. Mike, I will call you soon, would love to get together and let you take a gander at this thing in person, I am sure you would be able to knock weeks off my setup learning curve. Lunch would be on me, of course!
Where exactly in E-market is the hobby store? I have gotten lost in there more than once before. Is it in the main building, Yongsan station, or out back?
And have you ever been to the LHS at Sindoram station? I think it is called Joy Hobby, I was told by a small store owner today that it is the largest hobby store in Korea, they even have tables set up where you can bring your babies in and work on them on the spot. Even have tools for you. I gotta get over there this weekend and check it out. |
