I think Doug's got it straight. Plastic head is the best (all things considered especially weight). Microheli swash is a real nice upgrade that does something. Now do something about the dampening because the stock system wears out quickly and is pretty sloppy. Check out my post (just did it) in the 'Bladezilla V40 Flies!' about dampening.

There's no arguing that the plastic head works just great. I have one on my stock Pro 2 that I will never change out.

However, I LOVE the Horizon bling head for precision and durability on my high-speed blade CP and I'm not really sure how much of a weight penalty it is. I weighed the head complete and it tips the scales at 41 grams. Next time I have the plastic head off I'll weigh it. I'm guessing somewhere around 30 grams. . . .

Stock dampers are fine. Just add extra shims to stiffen it up. I forgot how many shims i have in mine, i would need to ask my brother, but just add shims extra shims to the head, untill you get the dampening you want.

Micro heli swash, and helimax axe cp paddles are the only airframe/head, upgrades needed IMHO.

No. you can't get the eflite aluminum swash to tilt as much as the microheli one. because the eflite one will bind up.
Which means slower roll rate.

Other than the slower roll rate, is the eflite aluminum swashplate better than the plastic one, as far as flying performance?
The roll rate on the CP Pro 2 is plenty fast enough for me, just would like to get rid of some of the slop.
Thanks.

I would defer to dieselracer or his brother Buildem 336 for their experience, but I have both swashplates on different blades. Other than less range of motion and slightly lower quality, the eflite part gets the job done. I just put one on a BCPP that I was running a plastic swash on and am happy with the difference between it and the stock plastic one.

Yea and they should have them at Tower Hobbies. I use the 3020s but I don't fly like diesel or Buildem. BTW are you guys going to funfly at Miramar?
