you cant compare the vibe 500 with the trex 500...
the vibe 500 blows the trex 500 out the water..i installed standerd servos and she is not flying like any other 500 like people think..
it flies just like a vibe 50 but quicker ...
i used to own a trex 500 and when i flew the vibe 500 for the first time...i forgot all about my vibe 50 and vibe 90SG..i was have to much freaking fun with the way it flew..
the vibe 500 quality is way above the trex and its well worth the price for 500-600 range..
i can say this..its well worth the buy and money cause in the end..you will not be disapointed..
not to mention its more stable and alot more faster the the 500 trex..
Fly it with a Kontronik Kora motor. Very powerfull yet very light too. Short can so better protection in case of a crash.
Kora 15-14 is fine with 5S and 17T. Kora 15-16 is 6S ready.
Be careful about batt weight . TP prolite V2 are a very good choice because very light! 5S 3300 (386g) or 6S 2600 (360g!). Above 390g you will be nose heavy.
With a Jazz 55-6-18 or a Hacker X55SB Esc you will have a bullet.
Another Vote for the Vibe 500E there is no doubt that the machine has far better materials and parts fit and finish is perfect therefore cost more to produce,
I have never seen a belt-drive helicopter free-spin for such a long time the belt looks like a hybrid of kevlar and soft rubber there are no "hairs" hanging off and the pulleys are a perfect mate to the teeth on the belt.
Flying it is a dream very locked in and solid in a hover
Im running mine with alll the electronics that horizon hobby recommends. the E-flite motor performs well and the 60A pro esc is nice becouse you dont have to buy a BEC however the soft-start is not so soft...a castle 80 would be great with a western robitics bec.
it is very quiet due to the brass pinion and delrin main gear wich runs perfectly true ( so there is no high spot in the gear mesh.
this machine costs a good bit of money and is not for everyone to go out and buy.
the Trex 500 is a very good machine as well the only complaints i have are,
stamped carbon frames main gear not so true (but not horrible) belt material on the stiff side ( causes extra drag) you can buy a TT drive for the belt equipped kits for extra $ motor and esc are forced on you motor is ok but esc is marginal
thats about it.
both machines get the job done just fine the vibe is just a higher quality machine
Vibe 500EWhile Quality is definitely better than any Trex 500...the COST of the Vibe 500E is just crazy...
I think it's funny that people say the vibe 500E is faster than a trex 50 also...I don't see how that can be possible considering the Vibe 500E is CONSIDERABLY heavier than a trex 500.
It flies well...my buddy has one...but a trex 500 equipped the same would still be faster...I think the vibe is like a 1/2 pound heavier...maybe even more than that..
I have a flybarless trex 500...be happy to weigh my Trex 500 if someone wants to put their vibe 500E on the scale and post weight here RTF..
Jag72In the issue of RC Heli with the review on the Vibe500e it is mentioned that it actual weighs just a bit less than a Trex500. The weight of both machines must be very similar.
With a 420g batt my Vibe 500E was below 1800g. Spare parts price is mostly the same or cheaper than T-Rex 500 ones. I have no doubt the Vibe 500 is a much better investment than the T-rex 500. It's flying so much better. But you have to got one (and to build it to!) to understand.
Test Vibe 500 E this morningVIBE 500 E .Just test and flown this morning the blade was out of track after reach 2600 RPM HS could'nt figured out why. After 30 mins change a new damper / spindle was doing the same. it only did after reach that HS. Here is my setup Scorpion motor Align ESC 60 amps battery TB 2600mah but only last about 2.5 mins . Need to know why?
