Anyone on the 'inside' or at least have the inside scoop on getting a "UAV Job"?

I'm a civilian pilot...commercial/instrument rated in helicopters (several thousand hours)...private/instrument rated in fixed-wing with a couple hundred hours.

I'd love to switch gears and start piloting UAVs but just not sure who's hiring 'guys like me'.

Getting into just about any facet of the technology would be great too...just to be working around UAVs...but ideally I'd like to be a pilot.

Anyway...any help, leads, tips, etc...much appreciated.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Unless you live in the UAE, Iran or N. Korea, U make your own work in the UAV business. Insitu is the small startup, General Atomics is the big corporation, & the rest are basically 1 guy with an army contract.

Go to diydrones.com & you'll say man, there are a lot of guidance, navigation & control experts in the world.

General Atomics is always hiring pilots,sensor operators,technicians and mechanics. Go to the website. You need to be able to get or already have a security clearance and deploy World wide.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Look up jobs with northrup grumman. I am looking to intern there next summer and they do some of the best uav work in the business. This is our team. http://uwf.edu/sse/news/uascompetition.cfm If your a commercial pilot you can get a job with northrup as a uav pilot some at the tune of 170k a year.
