Even if a company puts it in writing thats a crappy way do do business. I sure wont be ordering from them, they would probably tell you they have the part in stock even if they dont just so thay can make the sale.with the economy the way it is right now things like this are going to happen.

It's a bad way to do business, yes, but it's something that could have been avoided.

Did you get express delivery? Look at the delivery receipt.

Did you read what I wrote about that? I'm assuming not.

"they would probably tell you they have the part in stock even if they dont just so thay can make the sale"

Well I'm still not convinced you can NOT block the money going out from your credit card.

The credit card is used as a way of payment, I don't think they can intervene and say 'sorry but we are forcing you to pay'.

It's within your legal rights to just say 'do not allow payment to this company'. Your credit card company is not in a situation to judge, really. It would be you that gets taken to court over it, not them (and you would win).

"Thank you for being GFORCE's lawyer"

I am not being their lawyer by pointing out the mistakes you made. You shouldn't expect everyone to agree with your libellous thread.

And let's not forget, you DID make mistakes. You can ASSUME they'd say they'd have such and such in stock, yadda yadda. The fact remains, you did not actually phone them BEFORE giving your credit card details to see if they had stock in.

What is the website of this company anyway? Most model shop websites I know of state you should phone them. In fact they're very civil and helpful compared to shopping for other things.

One big assumption that is more than likely incorrect.

Companies like Gforce don't have most of the slow selling lines that they advertise in stock as helicopter product is a side business unlike Quick UK that helicopter upgrade parts and products is their main business. Charging a credit card when you know that you have not got the product in stock is unacceptable, Gforce should have informed him of the lack of stock and asked if he was willing to carry on with the transaction, instead they took his money went for a meal or two then stopped by the aluminium stockist and 2 weeks later remembered they had some bearing blocks to make and desided to make it during their quiet period. These guys are cowboys plain and simple.

GFORCE THE SALE

The problem is that they are in Canada and they start working 2 hours after I finish so when I ordered they were not available to check product availability and I wanted the parts to arrive quickly so I placed my order thinking that they had stock according to the fact that it was not mentioned that they didn't.

When I checked with my credit card company to get a refund they said that they could only intervene if the goods have not been delivered within 1 month. So I didn't go any further...

In any case you are right I should have called before.

Now it's my problem as I said I have 8 adjustable clutch bearing blocks left over... If I don't sell them I will put them in a frame on the wall

Powerflyer

but you didn't order 10 at once. and yes it is possible that there were not 10 in stock at that given time. thats why they named it backordered.

My experience in the USA

I have to agree with powerflyer. I recently ordered a lens for my camera on line. The next day the company called to tell me that the item was not in stock and started to ask why I wanted that particular item from that company. I gave them a good reason and they offered to refund my funds and advise me when one arrived in 2 weeks. Got my money back and then found out the vendor was one of those fly-by night operations in New York. You would not believe the store front I found in Google street views.

I'm sure they called to get me to buy a different lens. At least I got my money back. That is how it should be.

I will not by from GForce Products based on what I see above. If a rep from GForce will post a reply from their side they might change my mind.

Thanks powerflyer for the info.

PS. It's been over 2 weeks and no reply and this after I've sent 2 e-mails asking of they got the lens in.

This hobby is WAY too expensive!!
