My Posts This: Topic Forum | GyroFreak, that is the swash driver or follower. Like STR8HUCKIN says, it keeps the inner race of the swashplate in phase with the rotor head, basically doing the same job as the phasing pins in a regular flybarred head setup. Without it, the heli would be pretty much uncontrollable.
I was able to do a little more work on this machine last night. Some people had asked me how I did the boom supports on my original 620, so I thought I'd share here.
Measure out a few mm from the base of the boom support end and wrap some masking tape around the support.

Remove the end and rough up the boom supports with some sand paper. Make sure you clean off the sanded portion of boom supports and the inside of the support ends before the next step.

Apply a thick bead of JB Weld around and near the VERY EDGE of the support and reinstall the end while making sure you line up the screw holes. I didn't take a pic of this step but the excess JB Weld will collect at the base of the support end. Using a toothpick, you will have to push the excess down and around the support just until it contacts the masking tape. The JB Weld will settle and smooth out on it's own. At this point install the screws, remove the tape and let the joints dry. You should get something like this.

24 hours later...walla, the perfect JB Weld joint. These joints will NOT fail under extreme abuse.
