Anyone else have some flying footage of theirs flying... electric or nitro.... lets see them go...
This was a pretty confined space, indoors for this machine, but still had fun with it!!!!!

I will be trying the glass blades very soon.... I ordered them and they look good.... should be interesting!!!! Will let you know how they work....

doorman, your CH-46 looks great in the air.
Just have a couple of questions; what is the weight of your machine, and what head speed are you running?
The reason I ask is that I have just recently had my Hirobo Chinook CH-47 in the air with its body on and it seems to be lacking in power (at hover)running a head speed around 1650, it does weigh in at 5.7Kg (12.6lb) its no lightweight.

Flying Weight....

I just put mine on the scale and ready to go it weighs in at 14.0 lbs....
That was a shocker to me!!!! But as you can see in the video, it flies just fine and does not have any tendency to feel heavy at any point...
You may want to look at your pitch curves and bring your pitch in a bit earlier(?????)
If you would like, later this week, I could put mine on the table and take some stick position and pitch readings to give to you.....
I have not had mine tached, but the HS is in the range of 1650 to 1700 (calculated)...
Let me know if I can be of further help..... Stan

Thanks for the reply Stan, I think my problem has more to do with head speed rather than pitch, although it would be interesting to know at what pitch yours hovers at.
I'm using the CC85HV controller and I had it set in gov high at 1550 in NORM and 1650 in ST1, unfortunately I couldnt re-program the controller without taking the body off, anyway thats all been changed now and Ive upped the head speed to 1650 and 1700.
I havnt had a chance to try it yet and the weather forcast for the next few days is for very strong wind, so I'll give it another go when I can.

Any update on the composite blades? How do they fly (if you've had a chance to use them yet)?

Where can you get them?

Thanks,

Tow

Not Yet....

I haven't had a chance to settle down and try the new blades as of yet... little weather and a little health!!!!! BUT, I am hoping to get things together and have it back in the air within the next two weeks....

Here is the link where I purchased mine... I went for the 48cm blades since mine is the "50" sized unit.... the 46cm look to be for the older 32 powered unit.....
Shipping was quick (about a week) without any special postage and it came out at just about $100.00 per head, shipped.... or about the same as the wood blades.... these are not flat bottom, but they are 50mm wide and I am hoping that I can slow the head speed a bit and still have the same lift and flight characteristics..... we will see!!!!
