Not always true, what about wear replacement?

Wear replacement that happened due to an abrupt contact with earth, is considered a crash still, because you can not prove beyond reasonable doubt that the damage/wear didn't ensue as a result of the "abrupt contact with earth" otherwise known as a crash.

Wear replacement that takes place during daily maintenance not due to abrupt contact with earth "a crash", does not fall into this category.

If having to replace a part means you had a crash, then I guess I have the worst track record here.

I live in the woods and tree limbs and even leaves are my worst enemy....next to me that is. My wife thinks it's funny to cover my eyes during flight. I'ld do the same to her but she's blond so it wouldn't make any difference....

I just fell out of my chair! I don't want to ask, but I feel like I have to, was this on purpose, or accidental, or were you flying where you shouldn't have been?

mcrex- how about losing orientation, slamming both sticks down, hitting T hold, and walking to the "crash site" only to find the bird on its skids with no broken parts? is it still a crash, because i had no control, and dumb luck landed my 500 on its skids. crash or no?

Dave, that's not a crash, and you are quite possibly the luckiest guy I know. I was wondering, do you want to go to the casino with me?

no worries mate- i immediately followed up with a "CRASH", needing blades, tailboom, paddles, flybar, mainshaft, landing gear, main gear, cracked frame, etc. but, it was with the 450, i parked the 500 after that one. luckily, there are 3 guys here on RR that saw it, cause all said if they hadnt been there, i would've been called a liar.

yeah man, love crashing the 450. even that bad one was less than a set of blades for my 600. ill use that as the first crash of the day now, kind of like a sacrificial lamb.

That's one of the best things about the 450, and probably the reason I'll never get rid of mine.

Hmmm I had tipped my Raptor 30 V2 on an auto. I landed the skids but to my dismay the ground was uneven and the woodies touched the ground slightly just enough to fold the blade and cause it to hit the boom and dent the boom. I replaced the boom and blades, although fine I didn't want to take a chance, the blades are still perfect, just a bit of covering tore off the tip. I didn't chalk it up to being a crash as I was able to keep the boom as a spare after fixing the little dent.

My tipover sure looked like a crash this weekend, did the funky chicken for a couple seconds but damage was only 36 dollars worth of parts(not counting blades) Wood blades look better and better every time you tip over

If any part other than the bottom of the skids touch the ground it is considered a crash.

Crash or NO crash?

After placing my radio on the hood of my pickup, it fell over kicking in the Throttle hold. This caused my Blade CP+ to shoot straight up into the tree branches causing the CP+ to fall onto the roof of my RV before falling to the grounde. Somewhere along the line, the main rotor blades broke and the tail rotor just fell off. Would this be considered a crash?
OR, what about if you set your heli on a table and then turn around bumping the table knocking the heli over and the table falling on top of the heli breaking some plastic. Would that be considered a crash?

datona7, IMO, yep. Op error.
DS8717, again IMO, thats a bit extreme.

To Me: Crash = Need to replace a part (any part) and its a crash.
Plain and simple. Of course crashes can have many causes but if you NEED to replace a part (current part is unusable), its a crash.

Your safe

I still have my training wheels on so you and everyone else in the tri-state area are reasonably safe.
I don't know if I'll even have time to mess around with my 400 3D let alone work on my CP+. I have an appointment up in Goshen on the 15th for work on my RV after which I'll be down along the river someplace then leaving on the 22nd to take my mother back to NJ to visit her grandchildren for a week. When we get back, she will be staying with me in my RV for a week while my sister is away, then on the 8th of July, I head back south.
