| soulreaper Heliman | This is just an update. I got the ESC in the mail today around noon. Then I went back to bed. I work night shift. Anyway the HW is the same length as the Align 75 amp esc. The HW is about 5mm wider. It comes with 12 guage wires and a Ferite ring. The body is made of a see through plastic and the plastic is smoke colored. The front of the body is of course the heat sink. It feels solid and appears to be well constructed. The Esc does not come with any connectors at all so you will have to provide your own deans, and connectors for your brushless. That's all for now. I am currently at work and wont get home until 0730 hours tomorrow. Stay tuned. | ||

| soulreaper Heliman | I put the connectors on the esc and installed it on my Hurricane 550. I opened up the instructions. The first thing you need to do is calibrate the esc to your throttle high and low points. Then you can proceed to program the esc. The instructions were pretty straight forward, and accurate. I only had to program a few things the first time around. The esc default was programmed to normal start which I changed to very soft, and the cutoff threshold was programmed to medium which I programmed to low. All the remaining defaults, I lived with for the first few flights. This esc has a few programs that I have never had to deal with. Most esc's that I have experience with come from the factory with preset timing modes" low, medium, high" This esc does not come with the those presets. For timing it has 0,3.75,7.5,11.25,15,18.75,22.5,and 26.25 these are in degrees. The default is 15. This was fine but I have 26.25 programmed now and my Z-30 is still running like a top. The esc also has a motor type program. It goes "normal motor, special motor 1, and special motor 2"there is a brief description of the differences. I have mine on the normal motor setting. The esc has a Frequency settings, and again I have never had to deal with that before. The Frequency settings are "PWM 12KHZ, and 24KHZ. default is 12KHZ and that is what I stuck with until I can get some more information about this setting. The instructions don't talk about the differences except it says that if you use the 24KHZ setting that the esc will run hotter. The esc has a Motor load setting" normal, heavy, very heavy, and auto. There is a brief description. The default is normal and that what I'm using.Okay lets get to it. VERY SOFT START WORKS!!!! The throttle response is great, it is easy to program with your radio, and for the most parts it stays cool, of course it is cold outside so the heat test is not as accurate, and will have to be looked at again this summer when it is 90 degrees outside. I will be here at work until 6AM I will answer any of your questions asap. I will not be on computer constantly but Ill be checking often to answer any questions. THIS REVIEW IS ONLY MY OPINION ABOUT THE ESC THAT WAS SENT TO ME. | ||

| Gregor99 Elite Veteran | About the super soft start, how well does it work? Can start with throttle hold off, and switch it on in idle up without too rapid of a ramp up? Its at as good as the SS on the Align and Castle ESCs? | ||
