The Velocity isn't any closer than any other stacked frame heli with mixing arms on the grips. My point is that there are limited options when it comes to heli designs at this point, and if you take away to canopy, you'd take away most of the "clone" aspect of the Frenzy.

I do know one thing, I own every other Outrage, and I will own that one as well.

Nick,
You have GOT to be kidding, right?
The head and the frame design....directly copied from the Vibe.
You just see the canopyN
Man, look again.
I personally do not give a damn about the ethics of the situation because therels really not a damn thing we can do about it.
But to ignore the origins of the helicopter andclose your eyes to the truth thatthe DESIGN is JR's is preposterous.
It's not a clone, its a copy.

Like I said, if it's the same why does it have an entirely different transmission and tail setup? Why do none of the parts carry over. If it's a copy (which I'm sure it is), they did a really bad job and only copied the look to get more business.

I agree with Eury. Almost everything at this point is inspired by something else. Everything is different on the TZ, but yes inspired. The head on the Vibe isnt any thing new, manny use that same concept before the Vibe came out, so where did they come up with the design? And the TZ is not exactly the same (just like the fly bar cage on this new outrage, looks like X-Cell Furion cage). I can see things on this new outrage that has been inspired by other helis and the vibe as well.

Oh jeez, won't nobody close this thread? If you want a vibe and can't afford it then buy this thing (I forgot the name, sorry) but don't come here praising how great and cool it is because Vibe owners won't care anyway.

Call me elitist or whatever you want but deep down, its the guys owning the furball that are searching for recognition, not the other way around hence this thread was originally in the JR section but got moved.

Tony

VooDooX,

Would it be fair to say that the better designed models get cloned while the bottom feeders do not? Seems reasonable to me. A better designed model cloned using lower grade parts sould survive better than a poorly designed OM POS model with poor fits (bearings that fall out of bearing blocks etc). That would be one reason why certain 200 dollar models are not copied, they s-u-see-k to start with, so no one in their right mind would copy one. I also wonder how many of the so called clones come out of the same factory. Good thing word travels fast and we have RR so we know what to stay away from!? I find you just have to weed out the motivation of some posts then deal with better reality. Maybe the prices will improve on the OM versions?
One thing I notice about factory JR guys (reps) is they have a bit of class in posting matters.

Frenzy 50 is worth purchasing

Here is a more balanced and knowledge based feedback to the many uninformed comments in this posting.

As an owner of a JR Voyager 50 & Vibe 90, they are great machines. However, so is the JS TZ Frenzy 50. The Frenzy is as nible if not moreso than most 50 class machines out there. I agree that some of the parts are similar to other machines, but a direct knockoff statement is incorrect. Heck, there is only so far the present designs can go. As for the durability of this machine, I have 100+ flights without a single component issue on the Frenzy 50's and challenge the comments about Chinese quality. (FYI - I own two Frenzy 50's)
Why?
With some of my company's products being produced in China and my personal engineering knowledge of product and component quality from China, material quality depends upon the China source and province the material comes from. In the case of the Frenzy, they are produced by a quality focused company using good material sources.

The only real difference I have seen between JR and JS is the cost. This cost difference is primarily due to the labor costs that are much less. This includes engineering labor as well.

So the bottom line is that if you don't mind paying the higher price for JR you won't be disappointed in the product. But don't be discouraged from the Frenzy 50, it is a great machine at a VERY enticing price.
The only item to consider outside of the price and performance is that JR has been around for a very long time and will likely outlive the present economic situation. JS has been around for over 5 years, but does not have the history of JR.
Just remember, at less than 50% of the JR prices, cross compatibility of JS parts with Hirobo, Thunder Tiger, JR, etc... who cares if JR goes under. The Frenzy machine will have support until you eventually total it anyway.
