JR 500 E KIT PRICE $699.99

What is the cost to get this RTF compared to a T REX 500 ESP?

Items required: (Included With T Rex 500 ESP)
Main Blades $64.99 for Radix 430mm @ RH
Tail Blades $24.99 for Radix 72mm @ RH
Motor $74.99 for Scorpion 3026-1000KV @ RH
ESC $139.99 for CC Phoinix 60 @ RH
Servos Hitec HS 5245 $47.99 @ RH X 3 = $143.97

I'm not going to include Gyro or battery as both
the T REX 500 ESP & JR 500E will require in Addition
to above items for the JR 500E only.

Total:

JR 500E = $1148.92
T Rex 500 ESP $550.00 @ AMainHobbies or less on EBAY.

IS the JR 500E worth "DOUBLE" the Cost of a T Rex 500 ESP?

The part prices are DOUBLE the cost also!!!
one flybar is $10.44 for the JR 500E

You get 2 T REX 500 flybars for $5.99 or $2.99 for one.

I got mine, and man it looks nice. I can't wait to get started, but this trex 450 pro is still not done. I'm going to use the 1000kv Scorpion, Align 60a esc, ino-lab mg servos and a Spartan gyro with a JR 3500G tail servo. 6s Outrage 3000 battery will be shared with 2 of my Trex 500's. Had a few friends over tonight and we pulled it all out of the box and everyone was impressed- it was fun, we got one of my Voyager E's and compared - though nothing like it really, you can see the heritage THEN, compared it to my Vibe 500- quite a bit more similarity. General consensus was that it should behave a bit more like the Vibe 50, but we'll see.

Mine Is Here

Hey Badbill,

My 500E just arrived this past Tuesday. But I will not get to work on it till next week. Toledo show is this week/end and I'm getting ready to make the trip. PLUS for me the E-Flite motor is not available yet. I'll get on the kit next week and just wait for the motor.

Hope to hear from you on your build and flights as well.

Looking forward to this 500 class e-heli from JR. I always liked the Voyager...sure outdated by today's standards...but this new Vibe500E really looks good!

Thanks!

I'm not sure to understand what you mean.

Kit only is sold 577USD by RC Champ.
Kit with Hacker motor and ESC is sold 783USD. Compatible from 4 to 6S.

With carbon blades as far as i know.

From my point of view it's cheaper than in the US. Even with a bit more expensive shipping. Parts will be cheaper too.

The main thing is of course for you to have your's.Whatever from wich country it comes from!

Maybe it's not a real price. I mean it could be a price for not available item.
But it was the previous price that was looking suspicious to me. Cheaper than in japan... Hum, not logical. Well if some of you bought it for this origial price, you did a very good operation!

My guess is they will sell very few of these and as a result drop the price. I would love to get one, but there is no way I would drop that money on it. I don't see the point.

i'm finishing a Vibe 50 build. The SVe/Vibe 500 is a lot better quality made. A goos step above if you prefer. Price is one thing but don't forget the kit is not the most expensive part.

I disagree. The kit is by far the most expensive part.
The mechanical stuff is what breaks the most so owning and flying this heli would be a rediculous waste of money compared to other 500e's of similar quality.

I fly my Trex 500 every day and crash it sometimes still.
One crash was so bad I bought another kit to save money. The parts I needed were equal to the price of a new kit so I went that way and had a bunch of leftover stuff.

You can buy two Trex 500's and still have a dollar left for the price of the belt drive Vibe.

It just depend WHERE you chose to buy your parts... Change rates are now different but i did some serious study to compare T-500 and JR SVE parts price 10 month ago. JR parts was 20 to 30% cheaper than Align ones. Even with Align often forcing you to buy some part by 2 of them. And with far better JR quality material (real screws by example...) Since Yen value changed radically at the end of last year, this is not true anymore. But Parts price at RC Champ or some other japanese shops would be a lot cheaper than you think.

You'd have to change every part on it twice before you started seeing savings though and personally,I want a heli that never needs any parts.lol...

I'll stick with my T500's

Typical way of thinking of a non SVE/Vibe 500E pilot. I'm very happy with mine. It flyes far better than a T-500 and it's enough for me. Beside you forget to highlight than the Vibe is a full metal part heli. Unlike the T-500. If you're happy with your T-500 then it's fine. It just means you don't deserve a Vibe 500E!

I saw one more time yesterday how far Align is from making good quality heli using good quality material. The T-700 is making no exception in the Align heli range. Only the V2 may be ok. Maybe...

After owning a Vibe 50, I have no doubt this heli is miles a head of a t-rex 500. But at this cost, I just assume buy another Vibe 50 Nitro. I loved it. Just did not have the space to fly it or the extra $ to drive to the field. If economy improves soon though, I'm getting another one

I don't understand all the talk about how much it costs. You either want it and can afford it, and buy it, or minus one of the first two you DON'T ( buy it). I have 3 Trex 500's, and the Vibe is head and shoulders better quality. I'm not getting rid of any of them, providing I still remain gainfully employed but I wouldn't trade the Vibe for two. I also have a Vibe 50, the only glow heli I fly- I love it. But how in the heck did you outfit it for less than the 500E? I have WAY more in my nitro, though neither was cheap. And I have as much as I have in both of them in my 350mm blade size Duzi Nova
