That's been out awhile. With some luck, it's already under control.

I wish it was under control. A guy just bought one from our new LHS, and crashed his new T500 due to the failure. The store owner found out by this returned DX6.

After closely monitoring the situation, Horizon has determined that we need to physically inspect all DX6i transmitters with date codes... 807E, 808E, 809E, 810E, 811E, 812E, and 901E

Yeah, that part is definitely new!!

Box 'em up, boys!

3 years is enough time wasted. Taking a break for a while.

Yeah its been posted before but horizon wasn't caling it a recall at that point.
http://runryder.com/helicopter/t491840p1/
The funny thing is when i was on one of my phone calls to horizon about it I said something like "Well because of the recall....." and the guy said "Sir this is not a recall!" I was like well ok whatever your calling it. lol But now i guess its a being called a limited recall.
Also I just asked if i could get a brand new one since at the time when i found out this info my dx6i had only been in my possesion for literally an hour. The guy told me that it wouldn't be possible because there were not any new ones that were not affected by this problem.

The product bulletin wasn't a recall at the time it was posted - once a closer inspection of the situation, Horizon and Spektrum decided a recall was necessary.

These bulletins are mistaken as product recalls very commonly, and Horizon tries to distinguish the two as the bulletins are there to help avoid problems that may only affect a few people.

Anyway, make sure to check your radios for the date codes, and if you don't have one, refer back to the product bulletin

[url=http://www.spektrumrc.com/Articles/Article.aspx?ArticleId=1885]

to test your radio.

If you're sending it back express mail with the USPS they have free boxes of various sizes. Get it large enough so you can pack it good.

hey guys

Just bought a dx6i last Friday for my dad. It's supposed to be a new improved version of the dx6i probably to eliminate the problem with the potentiometers. Well, the day I unwrapped it, everythings ok. Next morning: elev and pitch center points are set off by at least 3% (referring to the calibration menu!) not a big deal to recalibrate it, but don't want to do it every 10-12h!

Damn, seems that I'd have to send mine in as well, but since I'm in Germany this probably means it's just the german distributer that's gonna swap it for me. Have to see what my online dealer found out for me after calling them.
