My Posts This: Topic Forum | Perfect day at Chesaning MI 2009What a great funfly. Paul Binkley had the field in perfect shape. The weather was a perfect puffy cloud day with 72-724 degrees and light breeze. A steady stream of arrivals saw pilots coming from all directions. The greater Lansing/Charlotte mob arrived with Paul, Aaron, Andy. The Michigan Whirlybirds boys of Mike, Phil,Dave, Rrok,John(Adam L. couldn't play according to his mother-in-law) and others along with the Dirt Burner Boyz were there. Lots of strays from all over Michigan. The final count was 40 pilots with easily over 100 helicopters with TREX 600's and 700's being the predominant flavor of the day. Plenty of Raptors, Xcel's,Vibes,Knight's,Hirobo's, Blades, and others making up the mix. The flying was terrific with lots of low down and big flying. Seemed there was alway at least 3-4 helis in the air, so the spectators always had plenty to watch. Paul's helpers provided a nice lunch with sloppy joes, baked beans, brownies, watermelon and sodas to keep the crowd fed and happy. Flying continued right up to about 6PM and then a group of us adjourned to Joes Bar & Grill Sports Bar in Montrose on our way home. Great food, we all highly recommend that place if you attend the 2010 Chesaning Heli Funfly.
