Well finaly got to fly the Frenzy today I am very impressed with it. I must have gotten one without any problems. It flies perfect and no issues. My front pully runs true. Very smooth For a cheap " CLONE" It does very well. Be glad to get to fly it more.

To be honest, I think calling this a clone is an insult to it. There are only 3 things that make is "clonish" if you ask me. The Canopy, 140 ccpm swash and fuel tank mounting. Other then that, there is nothing "Vibe" about this heli. I bet if they would have simply put a different Canopy on it, this whole clone thing would not even be an coming up.

The frames are not the same. I see things in the frame layout that are similar to a few different helis. Knights, Raptors, Vibes and Trexs.

The head is similar to many helis as well. This is not a new design by no means and there are many helis out there that use this same style of head.

The tail is a cross between a Trex and Raptor.

The clutch system is more Raptor like. I need to put it next to a few Raptors at the club to be sure, but I do not think you can directly replace this system with one from a Raptor. Not sure yet.

So I just do not get this "clone" thing really. JS Models is not the first company to build a heli with influences from others on the market. Sometimes it doesn't pay to "re-invent the wheel" as they say. Even the so called "reputable" models out there have influences from other helis.

Anyway, I got the Frenzy together this past friday. Putting it together was quite easy. I had no issues building it what-so-ever. Bone stock with an OS50/Hatori and 600mm Radix blades, this heli is a great flier. Tracks great. Flips and rolls well. I am very impressed with what you get for $220. It is what it is. A reasonalby priced great flying helicopter. Are there better out there. Sure. But you will pay for better. Does that mean the TZ is not good. Nope. Infact it is GREAT!

Just telling it how it is. I do not do the "in-crowd" thing. I always go "against the grain" it seem :P. I see it a lot in this hobby. Buying a particular heli is like the cost of membership into some exclusive club and every other club is either junk or a copy. I find it amusing really. We are all here for the same thing right? To fly these heli and have fun doing it. Who cares what someone buys and/or likes. If it flies, that is good enough for me

Here is a video of my Frenzy in the air. I am not a great flier, but I can put a heli thru the paces. Sorry for the quality. The guy running the camera is not so good at using the zoom.

Amen Sparx.
Thanks to you guys here I went and bought a few to add to the fleet to fly and learn a couple new things on so if it gets whacked won't hurt much. But from what I see it's a very nice kit especially for the money and once I showed the kit to the guys at the field yesterday I wouldn't be surprised to see more there especially once they see it fly too.The cost and the quality seal the deal I think.

Oh yeah I bought 4 kits myself to have some spares of everything .

Oh No Someone Please Stop Me Before I Go Broke With This Heli Thing!!

4 KITS!

SHeesh.. leave some for the rest of us

Dan at Amain says they are going trying their hardest to keep the stock levels up. Last he told me they have like 60 Kits and I think more on the way. Well... 4 less now!

sparx if you dont think the frames on the tz look like the vibe you need to look at a vibe, they could not look any closer so that makes it a cheap clone before you give some snapy reply tradhunt and i got the very first ones out of a main. i got it becouse it looked like a vibe the best 50 out right now becouse the vibe flys so good i thought the tz would to and it duz but it is no vibe, but not bad for 220.

gondwnhard,

Never said they were not similar. Read my post again. They are also similar to the Knights frame. There are aspects of both frames I see in the Frenzy frame. You have access to both. Then take a picture of both of them side by side and one laying on top the other. Besides, a Frame means very little when it comes to how a heli flies. The frame is there to hold the componants. That servo layout is nothing new. It can be seen on more then just the Vibe and Frenzy helicopters.

From what I see, JS looked at the Vibe frame sides and modified them to their liking. Removed some thing and added others, for instance the Radio Tray. This is from a Trex 600/700. So is it a Trex clone now?

You said it right there. It does not fly like a Vib because it is NOT a Vibe. It is similar, yes. But not the same. I would say it is a GREAT heli for $220.

That is purely a subjective statement. Because if you ask me what the best 50 size out there right now is, I will say it is a Knight 50 3D. But you know what, that is my opinion because there is not way to make a statement like that based on facts. And there are no facts you can provide to back up that the Vibe is the Best 50. What about the Trex 600N. There are 100s of people out there that will say it is the Best 50. SO who is right? How do we judge who is right?

Look, the Frenzy is what it is. It is a Great Flying, Well Built and AFFORDABLE 50 size nitro. Can you tell me something about the Frenzy that will dispute that?

Will I sell my Knight 50 3D because I now have a Frenzy. Heck no. But I will tell you this much, they are going to get equal time on them.

I am not making "snappy" replies. You might be reading it that way, but that is not how I wrote it.

Sorry the quality is no vibe. can you show me one more heli with that exat servo layout. if you read one of my posts again i said it was a cheap clone of the vibe, raptor and 600. i am mostly being a smart ass about the pantera girls. yes the tz is affordable and it flys good not great, my 2c. well built some of it, but get some air time on it and you will see what i mean. now i am going to go beat it up a little before the rain. don't get me wrong if you read though all of the potes i have said it is a good heli for the price.

I do not know why you keep saying something to the effect of.....

"the quality is no Vibe".

No KIDDING!

Where have I or anyone else said that it was.

I said.... "A reasonalby priced great flying helicopter. Are there better out there. Sure. But you will pay for better"

So sure, you shell out the money for a Vibe, it better be of better quality. I would EXPECT that! But just because the Rotor Hub is shiny and polish does not make one heli fly better then the other. And NO I am NOT saying that a Frenzy will fly as good as a Vibe. I have not flown a Vibe so I wouldn't know. But I have flown enough helis to know what makes one heli fly better then the other.

Again, I do not agree with it being a clone. If this is a clone, then there are many other well respected helis on the market that are clones as well. Because there are many other helis that pull their designs from others as well. They tweak the design to fit their model. THis is not new and will be done again.

I put a damn near 1 1/2 gallons thru my Frenzy this weekend and I tried like HELL to break it. I think I have a good idea of what this heli is.

What I fail to understand is, if you feel it is a good heli, then why are you trying to make it look bad?

I am also curious. You keep saying that the quality is not Vibe. The quality of what exactly?

I enjoy buying different heli.'s to try out and fly. I've owned and flow just about every brand me I love my Compass heli.'s and have flown compass for a very long time and I don't see myself getting rid of them.

I buy different heli.'s and try out and usually sell them off to fund something else.... Not because I don't like this or that heli its just what I do. To me the JS is a very nice heli for the price fly's pretty good, cheep, and the quality is fairly nice for the price you pay I've seen poorer quality on more costly kit's. But it's no JR, MA, Hirobo, Compass quality that's for sure... And I wouldn't expect it to be for that price.

I wouldn't really call it a clone because to me a clone is a dead copy 100% interchangable or an easy option to use their parts to bolt right in and upgrade it(T.T., etc)... Like the Align clone's out their... But it's a very very close copy. The frame's do have the same servo layout, same electronics tray(if you get the optional tray... Clone that part is). but the T.T from the vibe cant be used unless hole's are drilled and a few other things.

As for the frame being close to the Knight I don't see it but maybe it's just me.

That's just my opinion and I'm not here to argue or push my opinion on whats a better heli or not. Just giving my .02

George
