As far as I know, yes. These are always folks fishing. It is part of the public park, just right behind us.

We now that we have 2 days, if you don't want to do the night fly, or need a break anytime from the glow fumes, you are welcome to go to the pond.

I want this to be as much as a big relaxing picnic with lots of helis around, as a fun event. That is the reason to have a grill running almost all day long, where you can cook your own stuff if you so desire.

Did I mention we can fly off the lake/pond. (At your own risk)

Best if flotation device is on heli!

I am very sorry, but two of our great pilots and supporters, Jared and Trueblood will not be at the Fun Fly. I think Mike's bride to be has the call on that one. He's tying the knot the same weekend. Jared will likely attend the wedding.
Wish Mike the best!

There is room for camping, but there are no hook-ups for power or water. Is a city park and we allow folks to camp those 2 nights without any charge.

The camping is done in the area in between the access road and the lake.

Is that the same field where we used to have the Dayton contest at back in the 90's? If it is, Dan Chapman landed his model in that pond one fine afternoon. Also the site of the second IRCHA Jamboree.

Yes, that is the same site. Lot of years ago it was the place to be at a contest .So many Great flyers have been there and I see it as the birthplace for IRCHA .

You are right, it was 20 years ago this year that IRCHA was conceived.
The home to the first 2 or 3 IRCHA Jamboree's.

As you say, " So many great pilots" I have great memories from this field, learned to fly there myself.
