I am down at bells we are burning the midnight oil, well he is watching i am building whilst wathing a plethera of films as he doesnt have Television, he only has it ocnnected to a dvd player to watch films...
I am tired now, we have cut a new shaft, i already fitted the torque tube, but on the zealous they cut it down to fit the longranger fuse, i have decided to keep it the same length as the cuatro 950mm, it meant we had to trim the torq tube as it waqs 1.9cm too long, so we have done that, and i fitted the bearings....
So a review so far, the Zealous in its pod and boom formatt is the best scale trainer I have tested and setup, the turbine is on permanent show rather than hid behind a canopy and the machine is massive..it is built very well, the front of it, it is an excellent machine to learn scale before the top of the mechanics as you know come off and go into the Longranger..
I was disapointed with a few things, You still have to cut your own booms and fly bars...the fuel tank is an orange juice bottle, i only realised this after i ordered one from OZ and it came with a juice lid on, it is the same as cooking oil in the UK...
They are not popular in the UK so there is only 1 place that does a few parts not a full back up like i would expect for this kind cash outlay..
It is a unique machine, would i recommend it NO, for the limited parts back up here in the UK shame someone like Midland or even Wren did not take it on.
The longranger fuses are now £1800.00 which is a rip off for fibre glass which is all it is at the end of the day, this is not Rotortecs fault they use a 3rd party to make their fuses and they just put up their prices by a great amount. the front of the machine and the gear box setup is some of the best engineering i have seen and been shown, the head i would say is very nicely built and will take one heck of a blade being 15mm shaft and 10mm spindle...
