let us know how it goes.

I went through alot of sweat to get the tail holding well but once it clicks... very nice bird. My friends are all selling their T500's as we speak... guess why...

I hopefully get a chance tomorrow. I just rebuilt the tail assembly. The biggest help seemed to be reaming the links further than I would've liked, but that is really the only way it seems you can get a smooth tail.

I unscrewed the brass tube and attempted to renew the plastic yoke by filling the threads with CA, so I could attempt to tap it again. It seemed to screw it pretty tight, so it should be ok as a temporary part for some basic flight tests till my replacement yoke arrives.

Anyway, the tail is MUCH more smooth now. I can't imagine the gyro or servo having any trouble moving it now. Will fly tomorrow morning.

Did you do the finger test?

Oh yeah, finger test. I assume this meant, with the entire tail put together, connected to the servo, use my index finger on the tail connector or servo horn and push it? That was fine.

Oh, and I got sick of trying to get the rod perfecting through the guide hole. I read from you guys it is OK to cut it off. Done.

Yes, the finger on the carbon tail push rod. On the servo horn its too easy to be done. On the carbon tail push rod you only are able to do it if there is no added resistance from the tail mechanism.

Now go out there and test it and report back

Tail is very free now mechanically.

mini-g STILL performed as mushy and scary as it did when the tail mechanics was rough.

So I swapped it out for a 401 I had on my trex450. WORKS GREAT. I would not say the 9257 and the 401 performed flawlessly. I still get a little bit of kick on extreme punch outs, but the tail moved and locked it very precisely with quick rudder movements. It did not feel like it was going to blow out.

On some quick high punches I noticed the tail was wagging very quickly. This is just to high of gain, right? I lowered the gain and it seemd to go away but I couldn't do a lot of testing, people got in my way.

So, crap mini-g? Something not set right with the gyro settings?

Flew mine yesterday after installing a Kontronic esc.
Governed at 70%
Tail is locked solid and predictable now.
HS is still to high, as I managed to use 2100mah in 4.3mins lol.
That was heavy sustained tic tocs for a continuous 45secs mid flight though.
Just wanted to beat on it and see what the battery could take....now I know not to do that again

If you bling it, they will come :D
