Well, it's been somtime since I've even thought about Heli's, but it looks like Im back for another go.

I was wondering what Align upgrades I should consider buying. I have the whole tail system currently, and the graphite tails as well. I mwould'nt mind upgrading the complet head system for this machane, as I notice lots of slop, I cannot get rid of.

It's been quite awhile for me, so If somone could link my around, to the proper places, for equipment needed, that would be awesome.

Thanks

Well, I guess I will post to myself here, just for notes.

I recently dragged out the dusty X400, and started working on it. I replaced the full head down to the swash with an EXI metal head, and a full trex tail system.

The heli took to the air yesterday, and needed some minor tracking adjustments needed. Once I tuned in, the heli was rock solid, with ease of Hover, and this is as far as I have got.

If you haven't gotten the eccpm upgrade that's a bonus.
I've got a template for a battery tray if you need. I
still fly mine. I wouldn't call it the next "3D" sensation
but it's hard to beat for free flight and patterns. It's
stable as crap when it comes to popping in and out of
the different modes, inverted or otherwise.

I think I know what you mean here, but since I have question, please be more specific?

I am having one hell of a hard time with my canapy, as it dosent fit well at all, with my long stick 2100.

Also. the chopper is flying so well for me right now, I hate to change the whole heli system over to eccpm, but I do like the looks of it, and my BATT would probly fit well.

If you use electronic mixing (eccpm), you're
linking the servos directly to the swash plate.
There are less moving parts, less weight, and
it frees up space inside the canopy. It's also
more responsive than mechanical mixing.

The template I'm talking about is what I used
to "mock up" my battery tray. I made it from
.054 or .056" aluminum (I think) I bought at
the hardware. I simply kept the template in
case I needed to make another tray in the future.
The tray itself weighs nearly nothing.

The mx 400 pro I used to have the head was also sloppy. But what I found was that if I just took and replaced all the balls and ball links with align links this tightened everything up a lot. I did sell the heli before I got the chance to finish it. Next on the list for my heli would have been replacing the main blade grips and bearing with align grips and bearing. I also had replace the tail section with a micro heli 450 tail unit. Why upgrade to the eccpm??? For that heli the standard mechanical mixing will work just fine.

Bring back the rotary phone so we don't have to press "1" to proceed to ENGLISH.

Hi Hawk

Could you upload the battery template please?
I want to give a second chance to my 450xs soon.

I need to replace the original TR, grips are a mess and tr pitch arm and shaft simply doesn´t work well, I´m gonna chance for the Trex parts.

Here ya go. I included a printer friendly version I traced
from the original in Paint Shop. It's pretty much dead nuts
with the exception of the mounting holes which are for
reference. You need to drill your own once you have formed
the part. I also formed the part from .035" aluminum instead
of my earlier claim. It's pretty flimsy until you form and
fix it to the airframe, which is what you want.

I'm pretty sure the images will be formatted by the website
so if you need a hand getting the template back to scale
just let me know.
