Most of the main gear problem is caused by the clutch bell bearings wearing and geting sloppy. After a crash or abuot 60 flights it needs to be checked. Has nothing to do with the main gear. The new align main gear fits to tight if your clutch bearings are good. This main gear is a wast of money. They need to fix the real problem. Design a part that has biger bearing that can handle the stress in the clutch area.

I dont understand this 'cold weather' crap. We've got 700's stripping main gears in 100f heat here in Australia so you can rule out the cold weather being the issue.
cold weather will make the gear mesh looser, hence some have experienced stripping because of this. If you try the bigger new gear , it will make your mesh tighter even in 100 f.

You could also adjust your mesh with the collar screws being removed and
replaced as I had posted.

As 3Dman posted, it could be your bell bearings being loose also. The gear won't strip if you keep your mesh correctly set. Some kits have looser mesh than others.

Flying helis isn't an activity, it's a state of mind.

My T700 has 6 flights on it. I just changed to the new Align gear. I was surprised at how tight the mesh was. I did notice that the teeth on the two gears is also slightly different. I am no expert but I tend to agree that the issue is in the clutch block, it should have had bigger bearings and made of metal.

I think what we need here is a rigid starting system and have the free wheel in the starter probe not the heli, this would make the clutch block and bearings more secure

Remember the Millennium 1 then it was changed in the Mk2 version

can someone answer this question please...

what happens in a crash with this new gear?

i know the plastic one gives if you dont hit TH in time, what further damage will this micro heli gear do if you reaction time is 2-3 seconds late.....

yep, sure was and can't believe how robbe got away with cheap plastic parts, alloy frames and a thin cheap egg shell canopy for TOP $$$$

the start probe needs changing in the 700 to a fixed system so that it will steady the bearings in the clutch

Got the gear and mounted the 4035-560 motor and then noticed the pinion jams at one side of the gear. Took the gear out and noticed that two teeth are not OK. The other one is thick and the other is sharp.. They are next to each other. I thought these were supposed to be extremely well machined
