I love it when people answer there own questions.
Not sure if it is arrogance or ignorance.

Raptor's

DS8717, that is an interesting comment, I can assure you that the Raptors are not gone and are alive and well. They still fly great, infact most people can't out fly their ability but follow the crowd and get on the new bandwagon in town. However I fly what I feel comfortable with. I do have a few different brands and have owned and flown the Trex 600. Outfly the raptor, I am not sure, and I am sure that many others would say the same thing.

aviation

I'm just stiring the pot a little, the Raptor is what it is and they just aren't around like they use to be as the OP stated. People will buy what is good and not what not up with whats hot. Go to any fun fly and see whats the most popular, people buy a certian heli for a reason. I was around when the Raptors first came out and they had their fair share of problems hence the V2.

Why every helicopter sucks...

Raptors - fantastic plastic and flies like crap
600N - falls apart in time
Evo - fantastic plastic
Pantera - fantastic plastic
Raven - PITA to work on
450SE - it's small and finicky
esky - it's an esky
walkera - it's a walkera
Stratus - too many parts and expensive
Aurora - can't get them and no support
Synergy - expensive
700N - falls apart
Avro - expensive
Mikado - expensive
Knight 50 - bends spindles and expensive
Fury - expensive
Vibe 50 - bad tail blades (courtesy of onquickgt)

the list goes on

Seriously, I don't understand why people are even discussing this. THERE IS NO HELICOPTER OUT THERE THAT SOMEONE WILL NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT! EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM HAS ITS OWN PROBLEMS! Choose the one that has the least problems FOR YOU!

GOOD GOD...

Ok I'm done,

PS Feel free to add to the list

Edit: forgot the vibe 50

Sure. The 600 is not a bad heli and development progresses and styles change, in my opinion it was just great that Align appeared. it gave the rest of the bunch something to think about, otherwise I do not think companys like JR would have ever came out with the Vibe 50 wich I find suddenly is reasonably priced. ANd yes I fly a T rex and I owe it alot of getting me were I am.Lets face it any heli that flies well is a good heli and after all its just a HOBBY!!

but Turkana, the plastic on a raptor is FAR SUPERIOR to that used on an Evo. I mean, there is a CLEAR DIFFERENCE! And who said carbon was better than plastic? CLEARLY, the plastic is better since the new ones have carbon and old ones are still using plastic. I mean, the logic is impeccable! I was so disappointed to discover that my newest machines were all carbon instead of plastic, such a let down. And CCPM? Come on, what's that about? Electronic mixing? Why would we start using electronics instead of mechanical mechanisms, clearly we need to go back to the time where computers were the size of rooms with a bunch of gears spinning.

LOL, I'm starting to have fun with this thread!

I find it funny that you said the Vibe 50's parts are expensive. This shows that you have obviously not reasearched this at all. Actually your "problem" on the vibe 50 should be changed to "bad stock tail blades". Thats it!

I have a raptor 60 and a trex 600n, they pretty much fly the same, which means that "I" fly the same from one to the next. not the heli, me. If Joe Blow was to try to fly both, with the same set up I have now, they would fly as good as Joe flies, not anyone else. Your helicopter can only fly as good as you can fly. If you cant fly worth a crap, then whatever your flying will fly like crap also. its called reality.

its called reality.

It's called "I got more money then I know what to do with so I'm buying all new stuff every time anything new comes out and the stuff I had last time is now junk fit for peasants and the mentally unstable rabble of the hobby"

1/2 of 1% needs the good stuff better.

I own both Raptor V2 and a Trex 600n. The Raptor is a very good machine, but I upgraded it with a metal head made it even better. I think it's about 6 years old and last year I finally had to replace the orginal main frames. Two or three engines in it, it's had the snot flown out of it and still flies. I usually try the new stuff on it before I do it with the Trex. Reason being it's one TUFF bird if I screw up it's not a fortune to fix. The Trex I've had for little over a year and already had to replace the main frames. CF frames they are either broke or not, plastic frames tend to have some "give" to them.

I do believe that the Raptor will be around for a long time.

My 2 cents.

Damn that ground is hard!

MY 2 cents

I still can't outfly the raptor and it works great for me. I have had support issues with Align and will never spend another cent on their products no matter how good they make them. You only get to burn me once and I will respond from the wallet. Align sucks
