No problem, and sorry once again for the late reply. Would you like to know the weight of the fibreglass one? I do not have one but I can find out for you no problem.

I have a question for you if possible, did you fit the alu frame supports on the back of your frame, instead of the ALU gyro basemount? If you did, do you mind if I ask why? Just wondering that is all. Looks rather nice!

What's the thickness of the CF frames?

I piled my Dragonus into the ground pretty bad the other day bending the frames both upper and lower and I have no spares and since I finally finished my CNC router I would like to use some G10 to make some new frame pieces, but since I have always flown with the aluminum frames I do not know what the thickness is of the CF frames.

Any help is appreciated,
DT

Hi DeadTom,

Sorry to hear about the crash!

All frames are 1mm apart from the Performance grey FG (Carbon) which is 1.5mm. These thicker frames also use gold spacers which are slightly smaller to allow for the thicker frames. The 1.5mm frame is excellent and what I personally use. It's very crash resistant!

You can find all the info here (as well as to purchase if desired).

Hey thanks Laurence, much appreciated.
I will post some pics later tonight when I get back home.
This kit was one of the originals that does not have the captive nuts.
Speaking of nuts and screws, will I need longer screws for the additional width of the frames?

Tom

Hi Tom,

You can upgrade the parts to ones with pre-installed nuts whenever you wish to do so, sorry if you know this already.

Nope, the standard screws will be just fine for the job.

Regards,

Laurence

Ouch!! The alu frame does do that in crashes, hehehe. Seems like the main shaft took a lot of the energy.

Let us know if you can when you get back up and flying .

Hello Laurence,

I apologize for my late reply, I've been lost in the sauce so to speak.

I fitted the aluminum frame spacers in lieu of the gyro base mount, mainly for looks and to put some support in there as well.....as opposed to not having anything in there. I used the plastic boom mount and mounted the gyro directly to it. FWIW, the weight difference is very close to if not the same.

I continue to be amazed by these particular machines .

Seems to work great! Thanks for the tip.

Dragonus parts at Helidirect.com

Does anyone know why helidirect.com is dumping their Dragonus parts inventory? I frequently buy parts from them, and was resonantly talking to the sale rep and he told me that the parts are being discontinued that was the reason. However that answer does not make sense to me. So does anyone know real reason?

Hi all!

Those who bought their Dragonus from promo sale may feel lucky because this heli simply ROCKs!

Amazing fast colective and cyclic response, very quiet and very light!

I already had Beam e4 which has the same tail rotor belt drive and don't know how it's possible, but Dragonus is far way more quieter.
I have also flown 450 PRO,and even this heli can't beat dragonus ,thrust me

Go Dragonus!!
