Could we get a wiring schematic drawn up to show us how you got all this to work. That would be great.

Grant, your heli looks great. I was wondering what size of bird is yours? I have a 60 size 222 with wire lg struts that I would like to upgrade. Would these struts work for mine, size wise?
Thanks, Mark

Hi Grant, the new struts look nice for store bought pieces but the rest of it looks like Emile's design for retracts. Did he do it for you? It looks like the one he had in his living room a little while ago.

Hi Heli boi,

Yes, the retract design is Emile's... and yes, that was mine on his living room floor.. and No, he did not do this retract installation.

I would like to install such nice looking retracts on my 60 size bell 222 project, I therefore e-mailed eurokitlucca in the US and they answered that they the retracts for the 60 size are no longer available...my question is: where else can I get some for 60 size?

I wish I could fly 24/7

Hello, very good your system, the media bought the wheels in Italy. I wonder how the set went by retractable axle box and set the shaft in it?

Thanks

If you could do it again...

GrantL,
Congratulations on a fantastic looking retract system. I too am gearing up for a similar project, and was wondering...
If you were starting this project again, knowing what you know now, would you change anything? And if so, what?

Would smaller wheels make a big differce?

Landing gear retracts for Bell 222 60-90 Century.

Hi Grant,

This is my first scale kit heli.
I bought the Century Bell 222 90 kits. I'm plan to use the Raptor 90 3D for the mechanic. I'm bought the Vario Bell 222 60-size heli. landing gear system components, the part number is #160. As far as the electrical control system for the landing gear, I'm plan to use the same ideas as your design. Where can I buy the y-connector and slow servo modules? For the up-lock and down-lock mechanism, I have the century up-lock and down-lock size 60-90 heli. Did you use the same one from century?

By the way, your Bell 222 landing gear video is great.

Thanks,

Hey Chapter.. the "Y" cable you make yourself.. just follow the drawing.. With regards to the servo module to slow your retract system down.. There are all kinds.. If you do a search here on RR, you'll get lots of ideas. The retract system is the CopterDoctor's.. I did not use the Century system.
