3D Masters 2009 will be held on the 24th, 25th and 26th July at Murcia in Spain. The venue will be the Mosa Trajectum Golf Resort, where the driving range will be reserved for the 3D Masters event. The site is ideal for the World's largest International 3D contest with unlimited Night Flying, no noise constraints and virtually guaranteed good weather. With its own bars, restaurants, entertainments, and the Sea only 20 minutes away, the visitor is guaranteed not only a spectacular weekend of 3D, but a holiday as well.

I hope this works well for you Jeff but I am personally hugely disappointed to see the UK's premier helicopter event move abroad. Hopefully with these new arrangements 3D Championships will attract a bigger crowd and the take over the sponsorships of the UK vendors that it needs to grow.

I enjoyed the event @ Northampton 2006, but the weather was terrible. It rained more or less during all the weekend, except for Sunday afternoon. But, living in Sweden, it's what the summer is all about, and it seems to be partially the same situation in UK

For me it's a bit sad that the event will no longer be held in UK, but, for the sake of weather stability and, hence, the total appearance, it's to the better!

from someone who does not want to board a plane to get to the event are there alternative travel arrangements where flying is not involved? A ferry possibly?

Well in that case, Max, how would you do it if you had to?

Your wife's Spanish isn't she, if I recall? Probably see the relative's while you're there.

Indeed she is, but from the North...

Unfortunately the only viable way to get there is to fly. You could do it by ferry/train/car/bus or by some combination, but it would take forever and probably shorten your life by 10 years!

The World F3C comp is the week after I think, and of course then it's IRCHA - at least they are both at the same site in 2009 (Muncie). Some folks will have to do quite a bit of travelling!

Can you explain the reason for this change of venue please Jeff ???
I like the idea, but I think it's going to be just too costly for alot of the regular UK spectators ? What a shame to take this great annual event out of the UK.
Mike.

I didn't know it was that close to the F3C Worlds. Given the choice I'll have to get ready for Muncie then...that is if I ever get over my fear of flying.....

Not the best move, probably good for the pennies, but not good for the UK Flying scene. Nice One Jeff

I thought this was a world class event, so why should it be just in the UK.

I though that IRCHA stands for International Radio Controlled Helicopter Association. So why is the jamboree held in USA every year? How would you feel about taking it to Mexico next year? And who knows where the year after.
