Just checking in. I'm still at it. 1 hour a day in the early morning on the sim and I started flying it for a half hour a night a few days a week. My flying has gotten better and I am thrilled with my improvements. Originally I thought my G3.5 would have had some limitations as to not to be able to perform advanced 3d but it has proved me wrong. With practice this sim does do all the tricks.

Haven't upgraded yet... not sure I need to.

Has anybody ever worn out the Sim's Tx?... I am on 450 hours and counting....

Not very often, my cable has packed in

But yeah, sim time is not time wasted. I like it to practice emergency stuff like autos.

Quality takes........time!

yes imagine the sim is a real helicopter its hard and you may need to be drunk to pull it off but i do it and i HATE crashing the sim unless i'm in crash mode where i'm completely trying a new trick out that's really difficult and i'm resetting like ever 1 second

ALSO SOMETHING THATS VERY VERY VERY VERY VERRRRRYY IMPORTANT make sure to reduce the endpoints on your transmitter to make the piro rate go down to what your normal heli is doesnt have to be perfect but close otherwise you wont learn anything

i spend a few hours a day on the sim, i use it mostly for practicing schedules and flying to music, i find it helps allot because it allows me to perfect transitions and to see wether they will actually work out without crashing my helicopter. i am using Phoenix, i also have real-flight G4.5 and Aerofly pro deluxe but phoenix is definitely the best sim.

semi-intermediate flyer

3 hours a week on the Real Flight G4.5 Simulator.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

I fly about 15 hours per month on average on the Sim since I don't get much time to fly my RC helis lately.

I have no signature, oh! Wait!! I guess I do.

Sims in general makes everything easy!!

I can do way more on Phoenix than I can for real - I support this by putting my heli in the ground yesterday doing something that I can do on the sim all day

They're OK for learning orientation but nothing substitutes actual flight time

3D?? No - just another input error!!!

you have to set up the sim heli like your real heli or its pointless plus remember sim is with no wind...

They're GREAT for learning orientation but nothing substitutes actual flight time

Fixed it for ya. I agree though...actual stick time is the best.

Yeah they are great for orientation. The best they are at though is recoveries, amount of times I've saved my heli in real life just down to the sim is insane...

How many hours do you simulate?

I would say I fly the sim 1 to 2 hours a day for the last 6 years,I really like it,also after 45 + years of flying RC it comes down to this one thing stick time,I know that the real deal is better than a simm but,The sim can give you hours of trial and error of stick time which refects back to muscel memory, not thinking left or right or up and down, your eyes see it your muscel memory takes over and you just react, some people are lucky to fly 3 flights a week its really hard to get off trainer stage with that kind of stick time, simms are the greatest teacher of all time in the RC industry and also a great tool to get a person hooked on this great Hobby RC Flying-I am done
