Oldest member of the group

Peter, is now the oldest member of the group, at 72 he makes me feel young
Now and again we allow him to fly, all by himself (he only started a couple of years ago)
Some shots of his scale over Plymouth

Increased head speed

On the latest petrol Lama, I wanted to raise the headspeed, to get more stability, the problem is that Vario plastic composite blade grips, are not up to the increased headspeed
Decided to fit metal grips

High winds

With the wind in excess of 20mph, flying was limited, although we all managed a flight, including my learner Ben,Well done Ben
Blade tie downs were required

Target Headspeed rpm

helibeli, I do not have a specific number in mind, I just wanted the ability to try higher headspeeds
Yesterday, flying off the stick in normal, the headspeed was a constant 960, in idle up one, it went to 1026 with no blade oscillation problems

Gareth, it is always windy on the top of the cliff, but the good thing is the backdrop changes every second of the day,
The photo of the windsock was for you, thats a 20mph one
See you at Red Lodge at the weekend

Spot/Landing lights

The old fart's were out shopping and came accross some mega bright torches in Tesco's, thought they would be ideal for landing/spot lights, at under £8.00 each I thought it was worth a go, as the mega bright LED's come in at about this price

Wayne, Sorry just checked out a new one and nothing on it except Tesco, So all I can assume is that they have had them made for their stores only

David, one of our newer members has arthritis in his hands which makes it difficult for him to fly. He designed a tray to help him and I must say he flys very well with his tranmitter sat in it. I took some pictures so that anyone who might have a similar problem could possibly make up something similar to help them as well.
