Snohomish County, WA - Looking for mentoring

It's great that this thread exists.

I am new to the hobby, live in Snohomish County, WA and would love some help from a more experienced heli builder/flyer.

odbo,

There's a rc heli shop in Woodinville called something like RC Hobbies or RC Hobby. They have lots of Raptor and Trex parts so I assume that they know what they're doing. I was also told that there's a heli group that flies at a field near Snohomish. The guys in Woodinville can probably put you in touch with the Snohomish heli group. Good Luck.

This thread makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside

This is great. The camaraderie, willingness to help, and genuine kindness I have encountered in my short time in this hobby (~6 months) has really made this a truly enjoyable experience. I am still fairly new, but through my 2-3 hour nightly message board readings and mistakes/accomplishments I am sure I could humbly offer some basic help to a true beginner. I remember when i got my first nitro i exchanged several pms with JD Wilson and his insight helped me alot. Hell he even invited to a funfly soon after. It really does make the hobby that much more appealing with people like JD and others.

Birmingham, AL - Bill Kervaski / Birmingham RC Helicopter Association

We will happily help anyone willing to come to our field and has an AMA membership.

This thread is a great idea and an "Official Mentor" sticky/wiki post/linke somewhere easy to see would be perfect for noobs trying to get some help.

I'm nowhere near an expert. I have been flying and crashing for a little over a year now. I don't have nitro experience. I will gladly help anyone in the Eureka down to Weott area of Northern California to setup and help pick helicopters and electronics. If ya need help PM please.

You can add me as a Norcal Mentor. Been flying planes for over twenty years and helicopters for 5. I've been helping new pilots setup and fly anything they bring me and I spend a good part of my time helping every one at the field that needs help as well as being the clubs AMA intro pilot instructor.

I am also the AMA's Intro Pilot for my club. I will help you set up your airplane or helicopter, and guide you thru the first few flights until you decide that you don't need my help anymore.

My home field is in Milford Lake, Kansas but I travel quite frequently to Clearview Field in Milton KS (30 miles SW of Wichita) and make my way to Topeka, Salina, Herington and a few other towns at least once a year.
