4-cycle engines offer (typically) quieter, cleaner burning, more efficient combustion. That's why the EPA is insisting we all switch to them. I bought a commercial weed whacker that is 4-stroke, and I love it.
On the flip side, the power-to-weight ratio is lower, so a 26cc 2-stroker will have more power output than a 26cc 2-stroke, and will be smaller/lighter.
In a weed eater or other object that we carry around, not a huge deal. But in a model aircraft, excess weight is a bad thing, even if it is environmentally more friendly.
Good luck! |
