Hey JImbo,

We are hiring mortgage loan officers....you'd have to wear a suit and tie !!!...hehehe. Yes...I am going to get one from Twin...he had two left...so I getting one just in time...that was close...!
I will have to figure out how I will mount the tail servo...I guessing on the boom. Anyway ... I'm excited that Twin had a couple left and I get one of them... Yipee.

Jimbo, I would have figured that the oil industry is going full bore right now...so your job slowing down surprises me....!
Our gas prices out here in Northern Calif. ar starting to go up again...about $2.50 a gal right now....Maybe that's good news for you??

Just the opposite. The oil industry here in Texas and the Gulf coast is coming to a halt. All of the refineries here in the Golden Triangle are laying off people and shutting down whole units in the plants. It is bad right now..
Glad you are getting you one of the twinring frames. I realy think they are the best thing to happen to the EP8 yet.
You will need to get some of the 30mm threaded spacers, at least 5 of them. I`m not sure if twinring is supplying those with the frames or not. He asked me if I had some of them and I told him yes so I`m not sure..

Hey Jimbo....

Thanks for the info....I don't have any of those spacers ... I guess I'll need to find a few somewhere if they don't come with the frames... of course I would be happy to buy some from Twin if he has them....? What about skids? It looks like Twins pictures show some that I've never seen before...I hope I can get some of those from one of my regular suppliers. Will I need Anything else??

That surprises me about the refiners and all....you'd think that if prices are going up they'd be hiring not laying off....but what do I know.... :-)

Jimbob...

Those 500 skids look good too !....I guess you made your own little L brackets to attach them...I think I'll go with those since they're easy to get a hold of...

Thanks Jimbob !

Hey Jimbo....

Nice blue brackets to go along with the EX... !
Twin asked me what landing gear I was going to use...
I like the way Twin's mount to the frames ....just not sure if
they would be easily available here....what do you think??

Jimbob.....

Thanks for the info....I decided to go with those ....since I'm
not a machinist like you ! I hadn't heard of that model before
hearing it hear...so I'd didn't think the landing gear would be available. I'm looking forward to setting it up with the new frames !!!
I'm going to mount the tail servo to the boom (420mm). And, I'm going to use some new Hyperion servos. They are about half the price and are suppose to be really good .... including centering.

Thanks again Jimbob !

I will keep you posted with some pics etc.
Here is a link to a website that sells all of the Hyperion servo models.

This link shows a $38 tail servo that is very fast (7/9):
http://www.allerc.com/product_info....roducts_id=3489

Check out all the models....I'm thinking about buying there coreless digital servos for my 50 nitro heli...@ $57 a piece.

I will keep you posted about the servos Jimbo ! Who couldn't use some good inexpensive servos right about now !?!?? I know I could have saved allot of money if I'd been buying these servos for just that last couple of years. But, they're pretty new to the market. I have used Hyperion's batteries and ESCs and have been really happy with them..

I got a message from Twin today and the frames are on the way !!!
This SP frame change out will be fun....I will be running it on the
same 4S batteries....so it won't be crazy .... but it will have enough
pop to be lots of fun...!

That is awful twinring. You can always come to Beaumont, Texas and stay with me any time. The oil industry is bad but there are plenty of jobs here in southeast Texas!! I mean that too. You are always welcome in my home...
