I am ordering a set of frames off Twinring as soon as I get a PM back from him
All I need to have my QJ flying right now is a BEC. Easter hols here, so I will have to wait until mid week or so.

I had sold my 1000KV Scorpion when I broke my frames, but I have an 880kv one that I yanked out of my Protos. Great motor, but the protos smallest pinion is 15t (14t is coming but not out yet) and I need 14t to keep my HS in check.
Was only getting 3.30min flight and using 1850-2000mah, batteries very hot lol.

So Im very curious to see what kind of flight time it has with a reduced HS.

I still have my original Rotorworkz G10 chassis, so that will be the test bed until Twinrings frame arrives.
Im very curious to see how much real world impact battery location has on 3d ability.
I think it will be quite a bit, buy we'll see.

If you bling it, they will come :D

Glad to hear you are coming back gorn. I got one of the frames and they are awsome. I`m getting close to having mine airborn.
Money is real tight right now, so I have to wait a couple more weeks..
If you need a pinion just let me know what size, maybe I can help..

Thanks twinring. It is windy here in Beaumont,Texas also. I could not even fly my .90 size gasser it was so windy.
I can`t wait to get my twinringframes EP8 EX going. I think these frames are going to be the best of all of them. All the weight is in line with the boom. I think I am going to mount my ESC under the battery tray.
Twinring, can you post some more pics of your electronics placement ? Thanks..

Not A problem Jimbo, The width of the frame is quite well suited to the width of the CC series of ESCs I put the battery straps through the dedicated slot then the ESC and then used zip ties to keep in up in there. The BEC was then placed in between the slots in the dedicated ESC area.

Thank you twinring!! I realy like the electronics placement capabilities of your frames. Man , I can`t wait to get this heli flying. Money is real tight right now so I have to wait a little longer to get the parts I need. I need an s3150 servo and an AR7000 r/x to get it going..
The twinring frame addresses the battery placement problems that the stock frames have. It seems like QoJ did`nt even think of a place to put the battery when they designed the frame..

Jimbo,

the Atom skids have a tab molded into it that sticks out you can see them in the first pic above, I applied a small amount of Fiberglass and resin to hold a grommet into the canopy and it works very well. I have a few things that might work ideas for your situation. Ill send them to you.

Yes he is .. Try sending him a PM. I realy think these are the best frames to be made for the EP8. I have not flown mine yet, waiting on a tail servo. But the way the battery is mounted and the ESC mounting , it is very innovative design..
twinring is always coming up with good stuff for the EP8. Thanks twinring.
Have`nt heard from you in a while TYREE, how you been ?

Hey Jimbo !!

Yea .... it's been awhile...I've still been flyin' a little bit
but...I got sucked into some of my other time draining hobbies...
like Golf...so haven't been around too much...but I've been following
yours and Twin's exploits...!!! I just couldn't resist
asking about Twins frames...I would like to try them also....I did PM
Twin this morning...hope he still has some!?!?
The economy hasn't effected me to speak of so...I'm still buying
Helis even if I don't fly them as often as I use to...
By the way Jimbo....did you ever buy and fly one of those EP-5's ??
I'm thinking about getting one of those....what do you think?

Nice to see that you and Twin and Gorn etc. are still on the board !!!!

Hope all is good down your way Jimbo !!

Glad to hear from you TYREE.
The economy here in BMT, Texas is bad. Times have been real hard in my neck of the woods. I`m a machinist and make flanges for the oil industry and it is slowing down realy bad. They cut our hours down to 40 hrs a week. I realy relied on the over time for my hobby money.
As soon as things pick up I will get me one of the EP5`s.

Hi Twin & Jimbo...

Twin, I PM'd you about the frame details.
Thanks for getting back to me.

I'm sorry to hear that both of you
are being affected by the bad economic
environment. I work for a large financial company
as a programmer and we seem to be weathering the
situation ok so far... We asked a financial Guru
about all this and we were told that things should
start turning around at the beginning of 2010.
If the Guru's vision is accurate, we all just need
to hang in their for another 6 months or so.

HANG in there guys !!!
