Has anyone here tried Gyrobot 900 from lf-technik? Its price is much higher than a V-bar, and hows the performance of it, my concern is is it worth the extra money?

you could find it here: http://www.lf-technik.de/shop/produ...yroBot-900.html

I am using it

snowman999,

I have Gyrobot 900 ( was Gyrobot original version ) for a couple months working with version 1.01 software. It fly well however I am an intermidiate flyer learning some acrobatic. So I find it a bit aggressive and could not tone it down on my Futaba 12FG as it is already at the lowest setting.

Version 1.02 software that I just got the cable yesterdya and upgrade it maiden it this mroning. Wow what a difference and I could tone it down and it really fly well for me and have it configure same to what my flybar system configure to my liking. While I know it could be more aggressive as I progress.

This is what version 1.02 do the trick for me, I believe.

Manual state "The maximum agility has been decreased 25%, so if you want to have the same agility as you used in V1.00 or V1.01, you have to increase the settings for Servo Travel (ATV, Endpoint) for Aileron and Elevator on your transmitter a little."

Thanks for your comment jyzoom, we do benefit from the software upgrade. From the instruction, I find out gyrobot has both MEMS sensors and Acceleration Sensors inside, it is a big advantage compare to those just have MEMS sensors.

My GyroBot 900 left Germany on the 14th of this month. Still waiting for the knock on the door, even though I shelled out 34,51 EUR for shipping.

Ten days later and my GyroBot 900 is finally here. Don't panic when you load the enclosed CDROM and can't find an English set of instructions. The CDROM has only German language documents, but the website has an English instuction manual free to download. The next question is what language the PC-Cockpit device works in. More later.

I'm also considering the Gyrobot 900 instead of a Helicommand Rigid for my Logo 600 aerial photography platform which is in the works .....

Do you know if the 900 will perform better than the Rigid to make it worth the extra money (about £550 vs. £450 for the Rigid ....)?

Many thanks

David - Even though I have not flown the GyroBot yet, I do own two helis with the HC-Rigid. For AP the HC-Rigid platforms would be my choice for AP, based soley on what the GyroBot 900 literature has to say about capabilities.

Hi Boyd,

Can you expand on what the literature says about the Gyrobot? From what I've seen, the Gyrobot should knock the socks off the Helicommand given the type and quality of gyros it uses?

I should perhaps add that I'm only interested in using the horizontal hold mode of the Gyrobot (like on the Helicommand) which uses gyro references to return the helicopter to the horizontal ... the Helicommand has a camera which holds the helicopter in exactly the same position over the ground, but it's hopeless above a few metres and hence hopeless for aerial photography .....

Many thanks for your input

I've got one on order David - it's going on my 700e...
Unfortunately Lutz Focke of LF-Technik informs they are awaiting stock at the moment, not sure on the timescale... Will give me chance to convert head to flybarless...

I've actually gone for a new HC Rigid now as I'm familiar with its operation and its quirks (have one on another flybarless helicopter).

Nevertheless, I'd be interested to hear comparisons between people who have both

Cheers

I have one in my Vibe 50 and it is working well. It has been nasty here the last few days so I have yet to get the last few adjustments done yet but as of now it flies very well. Here are some pics:

That is the pricing for the 900 which also has flight stabilization. The Gyrobot 700 is more like what the SK360 aspires to be and it is $415 for the unit with USB and $129 more for the cockpit controller. That is closer to the SK360 and it is german engineering instead of Canadian
