I was given the an old hirobo ch-46 yesterday from a mate. I just want to see if anyone knows where i can get a manual?
there is a different phase setting between the two rotorheads, I would assume that this is incorrect. Front rotor head has the links at about a 15-20 degree angle and the rear the links are straight up and down.
Any help appreciated

thanks for the offer but I'm in Australia so not sure what they would hit you for faxing a manual here. I'll keep hunting around and if I get really stuck, I'll take you up on the offer.

Well we've got it converted over to electric now and so much easier to work on now. As we spun it up tonight, noticed that the front mast has a slight bend in it, so off to hunt down a mast.

Motor is a Scorpion 4025-630 running on 2 x 6s 3000. Conversion done by my dad.

I like the way the motor is mounted.

Electric is definitely the way to go on these tandems. Really makes it easier to tune up such a complex heli, getting rid of the nitro vibration, etc.

WOW, look how green that grass is, I haven't seen that in months!!!!!!! It's snowing in my front yard right now, YUK!

Nice job on the motor mount. I like the top mount method better then bottom mount also, looks much lighter and proper. Yes, nothing like electric on the twin.

Come on spring time!!!!

yeah its stinking hot down here at the moment, with an afternoon storm nearly everyday. Notmuch fun mowing 2 acres every 4 days lol.
Electric is so much more enjoyable. Time to get soem gyro's in it and get the body put on.

You hovered it with no gyros?????

WOW, are you brave, be careful with that, if it gets windy it'll become a handful like no other!!

Mine many years ago on first flight got wind under front rotor with mechanical gyros turned down low and in an instant it was upside down over my head, I rolled it over with full right aileron and it became right side down just as it hit the ground and rolled out still in one piece, God, was that a lucky day (it had 2 dowels with balls accross the front and read landing gear). WIth shaking hands, wobbly knees, and a poundinh heart I put it back in my truck and went home and downed more then a few!!

GOOD LUCK WITH IT, BE CAREFUL!!

Flight #3, put the body on for the first time, as I had great troubles keeping a visual on it, without the fuse on the other flights.
Going ok, still need to work on the gyro setting to calm it down in FF flight.

Now Theres A Plan!!!!!

krashtagain, thank you for the kind words..... guess I just enjoy this hobby and all the new friends that can be made from it.... and it has been a life long hobby for me... and heli's since 1990 or so... always glad to help out.....
So, this last weekend at our field, I did get the Vertol flying on the new radio and some friends came up with the idea that maybe I should attempt to loop it..... and once I get it fine tuned for the season, I really don't see why it would not do it.... they suggested that I do it at my home field first... but I told them that if I were really going to do it, that I thought it should be at IRCHA in front of the entire heli community so that if it did make it everyone would get to see it , and if not, well, at least everyone would get to see that too!!!!!!!!!.. Not sure I will get enough nerve up for that one.... but I hope they catch it on video if I do give it a go!!!!!

Hope to see you again this year!!!!! Stan
