My Posts This: Topic Forum | I have a Night Ranger 3D since may 2008. I am not a great pilot, but I hadn't had any major crash with it. (I have learned on the Ocean Rescue and sims) In September, I have done the brushless conversion, and liked it. I had no problem with installation, and it operated very well with my casual type of flying.
This weekend, I was holding the heli with one hand, and checking how much lift it had. When I've reached 50% throttle, i flipped the 3d switch. The motor has stopped like if I had put brakes on it, and became extremely hot. The battery (Lipo 3s 11.1 that I've got with a second hand NR3D that came already with a Lipo.) and ESC went very hot, too. After all was cooled down, I have carefully given a try. On power up, the gyro initiates, servos move, and I hear the usual noise from the ESC that let me know that everything is okay. When I apply throttle, the motor stops spinning at about 10% throttle and I hear a sound that is like a bad adjusted gear mesh, that seems to come from the ESC.
Have you ever encountered a situation like this? Can you help me find what happened? It's my first BIG problem with a Venom product. I have another stock NR3D that works very fine, two Ocean Rescue, and one Nr3D Micro, and am very satisfied with these helis.
Please tell me there is someting not too much expensive to do to solve my problem. I hope I won't end up in needing to buy all electronics...
Thank you for reading and responding
