Looks like a short nose N9.

Reminds me of this certain pelican. I still want one!

+1,000 on the canopy re-design

By itself it is bearable but when you stick it next to a sexy N9...lets just say that it needs some help.

This is probably the biggest turn-off for this heli.

Sorry, I've not been following these threads because all the 'new' helis are taking years to come out and it would drive me mad to keep reading 'soon' posts.

Yes, that's what it reminds me of, a pelican !!!!

Against the N9, it looks horrible, I've never seen that pic before. The first time I saw the N5 canopy was in the post above. This is last 50 I'm interested in, but not with a 'pelican' canopy maybe they have been taking inspiration from the Blitz avro (looks like a whale)!

Maybe all the companies have started a compatition to see who can make their 'new' models look more like animals?? The front profile of the Outrage 50 is very odd as well.

It's not hard, the N9 Vibe 50 and Aroura all look great, just scale down the N9 canopy. I'm sure nobodies going to mind?

I've just had a thought. Maybe it's sales psychology?

It's no harder to design a good looking canopy than a nasty one. Why do car manufacturers 'dumb down' their base line models? to get you to buy the more expensive models!

It costs no more to make one model heli than another. The only extra cost will be in a few more percent in materials, yet 90's can cost double what a 50 will cost. There are one or two other factors that will push the cost of a 90 kit up a little, but only by a few percent, like extra packing and shipping weight.

I don't think it is in the interests of the manufacturers to make a lower cost 50. They would prefer you to buy their more expensive 90 size model. A lot of these things are bought on looks, and maybe an ugly canopy is all it takes for some/most flyers to buy the more expensive, higher profit 90 size model ??

There will always be a need (market) for a smaller, cheaper model, so they have to offer one. But if they can gently push you to the higher value (more profit) model, maybe an ugly canopy is all it takes for some (most) ???

Who knows?

But one thing I know is that it is just as easy to make a nice canopy, as an ugly one. Synergy know what a good looking model looks like as they have made one already, and they know it! Clever business men never make things they've not thought through. So there MUST be a reason why this canopy is ugly?

just my thoughts

Also the sound you hear is the the unique sound of the Synergy's gears, frame resonation, and rotor harmonics.

You mean the Synergy gear? The only gear on it besides the main gear is the clutch bell. It would be hard to make the belt drive sound like the torque tube of it's big brother.

Yes. I think people are tired of false rumors, but the enthusiasm will pick up when a real release date is set. This thread is nearly a year old.

I was told that Matt is finishing up the manual and we should see something here pretty quick.

Right now, I think the first to market wins. IE: MA, N5, etc...

At least there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm glad to hear this news about the parts and manual. I must say I was getting a little worried.

Hang in there guys will get another great product from Synergy here soon.

For the Synergy bros....

Log-on-fire and I'm throwin' bones:

Wait til you see the N5 on "55" with his 'Special'. Bert beat the 600 with it, but Matt is KILLING the N5 with this thing; looks FUUUUUUNNNN!

-Drew

ps: For all you rumor-mongers, he just got and broke-in the .55 this past week. What's that say about every other fifty-sized N5 video (or flight) you've seen?

pps: "KILLING" in this context, does NOT = crash....

Glad he broke-in his .55 this week. That is reassuring that the N5 is moving along for release.

He is saying if you thought the video's were good with the 50, the 55 makes it that much better.
