^^^ hehehe. I'll take a flybarless N5, please. This is exciting news. I've been thinking about a second 50 size, and this might be an option (finances permitting). Flybarless 50's have shown some amazing results for those who are on a tight budget and want mega performance. I am one.

I hope Synergy at least has the option for weighted tail grips since it makes such a large difference in tail performance and feel.

No need for established N9 users to downsize. Flying characteristics of a 50 always are on the downside.

It will be more for guys entering the 50 class market or the nitro schene in general.
Of course there will be some N9 owners placing an order as an add-on to their fleet or somebody who wants something to abuse...

50`s always are good for the firm because of the bigger market potential.
Synergy maybe should have done the 50 as their first product.

That is an interesting point. I wonder if the N5 was released in 2006 if they would have more of an edge on the 50 market today. But then again, I'm pretty sure Synergy couldn't have came close to Align's mass production ability. In either case, Synergy has a good name with reputable guys running the company, and has the respect of the heli community. They have my respect.

I will definitely be looking at the N5 especially if it is anything like the N9. However, cost is a big factor. I like my 600N because it is so cheap to fix. You can practice and not have to worry so much about balling it up. That is what a 50 is for. Plus, they are better on fuel so they cost less to run overall.

If the N5 kit and parts are as expensive as what I am anticipating that will be the downfall. Look at the Vibe 50, nice bird but Align still has the market because they are cheaper. The Vibe is like $600 for the kit. I mean, another $150 and you can get a 90!

I just bought an N9 (maiden tomorrow, hopefully). I came from three Align helis. I bought the N9 over a T-Rex 700 because of the size difference, even though my wife tells me that size doesn't matter...? N9 is significantly larger than the 700.

Why would I then want to "downgrade" from the N9? Fuel consumption. I have yet to fly a 90, but am anticipating half as many flights from a gallon of CP30%. If the N5 is a size (or performance) improvement over my T-Rex 600NSP, the electronics and engine may be removed for another Synergy heli....

It isn't a matter of downgrading at all. There is such a thing as a quality 50. So many 90 guys turn their nose up at 50 heli's. Get over the status.

What 90? The Trex700?

Yeah, the Trex 700. Don't get me wrong, I would never ditch my N9 for a Trex 700 but just take a look around. I would estimate that there are already more Trex 700 owners than Synergy owners and it has only been out several months. Proving that cost plays a huge role here. And don't say "you get what you pay for" either because I know this is true to an extent but the 700's fly well and there aren't any more issues with it than the N9 had.

And for another $250 you can get an N9 now. Basically my point is this. 50 size machines are great for practicing and getting better, you will ball it up a time or two in the process if you are pushing yourself. I would rather risk a cheaper machine personally, who wouldn't?

You could make the same or more money selling volume and people would be very happy since they aren't paying an arm and a leg for a part.

If you look at the pic at the top of the post the N9 is showing to sell at the same retail price of the Rex 700. I have both helis and i fly the 700 more. I feel more comfortable with it i guess due to the cost of the N9 but while flying the 700 the most out of all my helis it is making me not tighten the cheeks up so much when i am flying the N9.

The N9 is still my favorite! I will have an N5 when it comes out so i can have another quality 50 besides the Vibe.

Yeah but that 799 isn't in US currency I don't think. The Synergy website shows $850 on sale now. You can get a 700N under $700 all day long. A buddy just got his for around $650 I believe.

I didn't realize at first that it isn't US $$ but i do know that it is down to $850 for a little while. The Trex can be found for less than $600 with some searching, it still isn't as up in quality as the N9 or the Vibes.

Negative sir, you have to buy the parts to convert the regular N9. There is a thread about this not too far back.
