The manual does not say a thing about or recomends any?

I have a few hitec HS-81 (32oz) and some hitec HS-225 (45oz) laying around

I am planning to fly it gentle most of the times, but sometimes the 2.5D animal comes out and beats the sticks to death.

Will the HS-81 be enough for a good trashing?

Okay i hav some hs 81's on an airplane. they are more of a micro servo. you would probally need a mini servo for your bird. but hey try em out and let us know.

Actually, I just realize that the HS81 would not work on cyclic because of its single mounting point per lug, and it will rock sideways.

I guess a mini like the HS225 is needed or at least, a micro with 2 screws per lug. Likewise the S3002, S9601, S9602, S9650, HS-5245 will all do ok.

HS-225 are fitting very good. You need to make a 180° rotation with the mini servo adaptation plates. It makes the servo output head closer from the main mast (1mm) (the adapter are not exactly symetrical but it's not easy to see!). This way, with Hitec strong red horns, you will almost be perfectly vetrtical (i'm talking about the rods going from horns to swashplates.

Nicolas, I am working on it right now. I happen to have 3 new HS225s. I will lined then up as you said. Thanks for the hint.

I am also thinking of putting a more agressive flybar and paddles to improve the cyclic responce.

Don't forget JR is selling upgrades kits containing the SVE4S rotor head (and another one for the tail rotor) to upgrade old Voyagers. This rotorhead is really a very good one. In fact it's more made for SVE3S owners. So you will have to buy blades, flybar (you can also use yours) ,paddles. I don't know about main mast. Anyway at end you will have a far better rotorhead than with the K&S parts.

Tail rotor upgarde kit is delivered with all the parts needed. Very good one.
