Looks great slider. I've been riveting as well using the Starwood Models rivet kit. It has been worth every penny spent on it.

Love the canopy latch too. That was some out of the box thinking there.

Thanks Dave, you should post some pictures when get a chance. I maybe should have gone with his also. Been trying to do as much as a can with what I have. Maybe just not as sure of the outcome and my flying skill to spend any more than I have to. Still have to buy some servos and a gyro for it also.

Thanks guys. The finish could be better,my camera is not good enough to show the imperfections. I just covered with 3/4oz. fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin thinned with methyl hydrate. I only put one coat of thinned epoxy then primer. If I was to do it again I would put one coat and sand it smooth and then put a second coat of thinned epoxy and sand again because it would fill the weave in the cloth better. You can use almost any primer as long as it is compatible with the finish paint you are using.

Thanks skypilot. I have learned a few things along the way mainly due to lack of experience. Not knowing what I was getting into has lead to some oversight for somethings that you have to try and overcome as you reach them. People here on RR are great for help.It many not be 100% but I feel it's going to work. I hope.

Just came in from trying the Raptor 30 V2 with 2 1/2 lbs added weight which is my fuselage weight . [drum roll] Can it lift the weight, Yes. Does it work a bit to do so, again, yes. I checked the temp after about 5 minutes of flight without the weight and got 180F at the back plate. I added the weight and did the same and it was 228F at the back plate. This is in a boom and pod configuration which is quite open. In a fuselage it is bound to be more. It does bog a bit when you hit the throttle although it did climb. So now I know. I guess a .50 engine with 600 blades would be better. I think I'll have to upgrade the engine and blade size to put it in this fuselage. If I can just hide the stuff from my wife.

Gee I guess I haven't posted anything in a while. Still at it thought. Had been waiting for parts. Took 3 week get to get my back order of stuff. Went and tried out the mechanics today, at least the rain held off. Got to try 3 tanks of fuel. I found I have a slight leak in the exhaust between the extension and the muffler I have to fix. Also had to run without a header tank because there is not room in the Cobra to fit it unless I make it a remote tank and then it would be around 10 inches from the main tank. Have some pictures of the mechanics, not to good though.

Thanks Dr.Tim. Hope to have it in the fuselage soon to see if it all works. Definitely was few issues to work out to fit a nitro in something that size. Would like to have it ready to take to a Fun Fly a couple hours drive from me August 1. Will have to do some changes later, like the landing gear for one. Will try a get pics from the Fun Fly.

Sorry to get back so late. Our power has been out till just now. No, I did not go with the upgrade yet. I did buy an OS50 Hyper off the forum so I can do it later. Going to use it with the tt.39 first to try it out. Will see how it goes.

Well it's kind of all together. It's going to be sink or swim. Going to give it a try, when we get a day without rain. Quit frankly I don't think the .39 engine will cut it but I'm going to give it one flight with the engine anyway, more if it works OK. I brought an OS.50 Hyper for it just in case. Need the rest of the parts to change over. That also means making a new muffler for it too. Have some things more to do but that will come later.
