Pilot prizes are lookin good !!

Looks like each pilot will be going home with at least two prizes possibly three !!

I will print out a prize list to put in each pilot registration packet so you can preview and think about what you want before the drawing. That way we can move right along and not be standing in the sun trying to give out over 100 prizes when each person can't decide what they want.

Less timed events. Not that I have any other suggestions. This is what comes to mind

Beginner - close in pad hop, bottle knock over, longest controlled over a 2ft box
Intermediate - far out pad hop, pluck the tennis ball from the Gatorade bottle (not timed, points per plucked ball), smooth flying, loops rolls
Advanced - far out pad hop, pluck the tennis ball from the Gatorade bottle (just because it is fun to watch advanced pilots pilots try to do easy hovering things ), 3-5min routine

I'll be bringing the Jet Ranger I posted the pic of, it's the same one I had the incident with on Friday last year that kept it grounded the rest of the weekend. Hopefully things will go a little better this year! I'll also be bringing my Mesa PD MD500E.

Here's the scoop on the field:

The city has given us seven camping permits. Please let me know if you plan on camping. So far I have about 4 spots filled.

Mark is in the process of getting the overnight permits and will make them for Thursday night through Sunday night.

The field is closed for the event Friday morning through Sunday about 3pm or so.

If you arrive Thursday and want to fly you must fly the "pattern" the planes are or fly on the Southeast section where the heli pads are. Just be careful not to cross the runway to the west.

However, if there are no plankers flying , and there usually isn't after about 2pm during the week, have at it on the main runway. Do NOT fly behind the pilot boxes however unless you fly the east west runway on the north end (because of the sun). In that case keep it north away from the fench and pilot boxes. The main runway runs north south.

Clear as mud?? The point is, just keep it in front of you and away from the people and parking lot, please.

I will probably be out there for a while Thursday afternoon setting up the concession trailer and grill, so get with me if you have any ?s. Feel free to call me on my toll free number.

It's gonna be GREAT !!!!

Dave,
I was just wanting to set up my canopy on Thursday. I wil be staying at a local hotel, my wife's idea of roughing it is a Holiday Inn without a resturant
Josh, I have the following location for the field (from Google Earth) Lat 35deg, 8 min, 58.290 sec or 35.149525; Long -106deg, 43 min, 53.198 sec or -106.731444.
Josh, are you bringing Sienna? Jenn is coming down with us, so you would have built in babysitter! She would love to see the little one again!!

I am trying to get the turbine de-Botosed for the trip!
